Can one appeal the three game ban and get it down to one? Or is a straight red automatically three games? 🤔

Zero chance they’re doing anything to create Scouse anguish and conspiracy claims after David Coote earlier this season. No chance this gets rescinded.

This is what I thought as well. It’s in the flow of a challenge, he hasn’t lined the guy up and struck him. He’s trying to shove him away and unfortunately contacts above the shoulders. It’s not violent conduct in a million years.

I can only presume you haven’t seen the replay angle where he lines the guy up and strikes him. Genuinely nonplussed at this take.

Players get sent off when squaring up and leaning in slightly or a light push to the face. This is far more forceful than that and whether he meant to hit him in the head or not is irrelevant. He did and so here we are.

It’s a red all day long in the modern game and no way is it getting overturned. If they still do the extra game for the frivolous appeal. Then this would be a candidate.

The galling thing is Gordon been smashed by Kulevsevki / VVD this season and neither has been a card, because referee deemed it fine/not seen it and VAR deemed it not a clear and obvious error. Then yesterday, referee gets out red :( Yellow, VAR does nothing IMO.

Frustrating as he shouldn’t have gave referee the choice, but can only hope on the panel there’s just enough split based on others this season to get it overturned.

Only place thats a red is on planet Soft Cunt. Absolutely not even having this 'he gave the ref a decision', it's a shove to get a player holding his shirt to get him off, yellow card and move on.

I was sitting about 20 yards away from it in the Gallowgate and totally agree. Absolutely bullshit decision by a ref who makes it all about him, for the entire game, every time.

Exactly. Have no idea why people seem to get so much satisfaction in lining up against Gordon. Maybe they basically think of him as a scouse rat or someone with a bad attitude, like they did before he signed.

He was extremely unlucky to get a red card for that. Has to be one of the softest red cards of any season.

I reckon about 75% of refs would probably have shown a yellow card there and that would have been the end of it and the incident would have been completely forgotten by everybody. Unfortunately that will never be overturned (bit like Schars v Southampton)

As someone earlier said - Van Dijk shoulder into Gordon that broke his nose was far worse

I hope we do appeal it, even if its not overturned/reduced. We just seem to sit back and accept these things (like the Schar one).

Its time we stood up for ourselves/players and at least tried to get something back/done.

Watching on TV, referee had his red card out before he even got over there which I found strange. Didn’t kick off, so thought he would buy some time to evaluate situation and try and keep it 11 v 11. But nope, once that was out, he couldn’t turn back.

Arguing that it should get overturned because he was just unlucky that he hit his head is quite something.

Humans have actually got pretty good control of their body movements, especially athletes. If we are going to set a precedent that people were just unlucky for hitting/kicking someone a certain place then that could be applied to pretty much every challenge.

He's clearly trying to push the guy to get free from a his shirt being pulled, looking at it back van Hecke is pulling his shirt up by his face, not sure where else Gordon is suppose to push him off especially when van Hecke is leaning down. Gordon's unlucky in my view and 9 times out of 10 the defender doesn't throw himself to the ground and it's not even a booking, it's just a tussle. But van Hecke does fall to the ground, Gordon's hand does touch his head so give's the Ref a choice to make, just a shame Anthony Taylor decided to ignore all the blatant yellow cards in the game and send him off.

Think there's a tiny chance he gets it rescinded, due to the extenuating circumstances of the shirt pull high up towards his head and the defender leaning down. Actually no he plays for NUFC not a team that plays in red so no chance.

You're absolutely right.

Didn't think it should be a red, but can absolutely understand why it was a red and there's absolutely zero chance of it getting overturned and you're mad if you think otherwise. It is what it is.

Smarmy bastard that Van Hecke mind, he knew exactly what he was doing.

I thought he, alongside many in their team, were utter cunts all day. Fouling constantly and obstructing off the ball.

Baleba should have got a second yellow too. He pulled Tino in the second half but Tino didnt go down. Convinced if he does he gets booked again.

We did appeal the Schar one, didn't we?
