Yeah looked to me like he kicked it just a tiny bit too far ahead of himself and then had to stretch and caught his studs.

Exactly that.

Watched the interview with Gary Neville, he comes across extremely well.

Self motivation, confidence, and a hunger to achieve. A managers dream

He scored the one against Bournemouth, Schar won it.

Aye, that's right, the one that went to VAR. Was a well taken pen too

I'm hoping that they'll spread it around more. Tripper, Tonali, Gordon and Bruno all capable of the current squad in taking set pieces. Others may come in the summer as well who can do so. We just need to switch it up more often rather than Trippier taking 99% of them.

I noticed his outswinging corners are far more dangerous than the usual inswinger

Worth reflecting on how we signed him.

"Under Eddie he's going to flourish", was a rather astute call from AS.

Also, feels like he was a boy merely 18 months ago.

Just had a look, and in 15 away games he has 1 goal and 2 assists. 2 of those came against Sheffield Utd in the 8-0 trashing. At home he has 9 goals and 7 assists in 17 games, pretty much 1 g/a per game. Crazy difference, but ofcourse it's not just him. Far from it.

Has anyone won more pens than Gordon in the league?

If this is accurate it looks like he's well clear:

Scrolling down says our last match was Sheff U so might not even include today's.

Might not be long before he's on the all-time list.

Whilst searching I was interested to discover through Transfermarkt that today's appears to have matched our highest penalties awarded in a PL season of 9 in 1993/94.

World Class. Maybe not, but Jesus Christ he's good.

he’s soooo close to being, with plenty of career left to get there. One of the best players in the league for me

My categorisation of world class is pretty much:

Can win games almost on their own multiple times a season

Is one of the best in their position in the world (clearly)

Has a consistency that means they rarely drop a long way below their ceiling

Id say he ticks the first one, I think he can tick the second. I think he ticks the third one
