I've been losing my mind all summer shortlisting wingers for the right side - we still haven't signed anybody, so I'm not prepared to go over the names again for the left.. I love Anthony's determination but there are other quality wingers in the top 5 leagues. More so, than strikers of Isak's calibre or warrior playmakers who'd fall in love with us like Bruno.. They have to want to sign for us over far more successful recent trophy winning clubs who can pay higher wages and are playing in the Champions league? We would also be losing our best player from last season whoch would weaken us a hell of a lot, especially with the weakness we already have on the other flank... I agree, and I wouldn’t be happy with that amount, but that’s what I believe he would go for. I wasn’t happy with ASM’s price either.
AyeDubbleYoo
We're way past the point we can sell anyone good.
Displayname
Think Gordon is a really unique player with limiless potential myself.

Gordon, Isak and Bruno (arguably Botman pre injury) are the key spine of this team and would get into any of the red (and blue) cartel quite easily. Gordon has all the attributes to take him all the way to the top of the game, arguably last season he was the best left sided attacker in the league. Do not sell under any circumstances unless someone offers north of 120m, which is next 5 year game changing cash. He's not in the same tier as Isak or Bruno. Don't want him sold fwiw. jackflap
If there was a similar level of player that Gordon was when we signed him available at RW that we could plug into the side and strengthen elsewhere then I think a mammoth offer would be well worth considering. We have Barnes there and LW was one of our strongest points the season before last with just Willock/Joelinton dovetailing in the position and Burn not really contributing in attack. I'd be torn but I think our RW as it is will really hold us back.

HayDen Traces
I love Gordon. His directness, sharpness and tenacity is elite level. He's untouchable for me.
nufcjmc
Understandably rusty here didn't have total control of the ball or that pure acceleration we know and love. Drawing a foul was on point though. First game back with little preseason so best is yet to come.
Holloway
Watched him closely live today, bit of a half arsed shift from him imo

Ikon
Though he looked depressed and half arsed too Hopefully just not fit yet. Edited August 17, 2024 by Ikon
Lish007
He like rang half the length of the field to the opposite side just to close someone down. Was hardly half arsed. Just a bit rusty.
MagSA
Did not seem to be up to speed today and based on the standards he sets for himself, he is probably the first to acknowledge that. Hopefully it's all fitness related which is solvable. He has lots of credit in the bank as far as I concerned. Just pray it's not anything transfer related

Newcastle Fan
Both him and Isak did not look at all bothered today for some reason.
WilliamPS
Last game he was preparing for was the final of the euros, and that whole experience would have been bitterly disappointing for him. He’s then barely had a pre season. In a few games he’ll be back to himself

The Prophet
Don't think it was half arsed, he did a lot of decent work off the ball. Just didn't look match sharp.
Skeletor
Can't say it was just him. Isak, Gordon, Livramento, Hall. They all looked off the pace. Gordon did come to life a bit in the second half and might have had some goal scoring chances if Pawson wasn't a bent cunt.
gbandit
Didn’t think there was anything up with Tino. Second half he was class
