Haven’t been paying attention but an immediate question is why would promotion-chasing Sheffield United allow him to go out on loan?

Because our Saudi owners will tell their Saudi owners they have to.

Championship promotion-chasers Sheffield United have been placed under a transfer embargo by the English Football League. The move relates to a breach of rule 52.2.3, which concerns the default of payments to another club. The EFL has not specified which club or player the matter relates to.

Seems like we might be too late to the party and a straight transfer will likely trump a loan. Who knows how long we may have been talking behind the scenes though.

Know next to nothing about him other than he has been universally raved about for the past 2/3 seasons.

They are under a transfer embargo and need to raise funds. A loan with an obligation would sort them out.

Feel like the player would have a big say in who he signs for mind.
