If I was going to pay a significant amount of money for a final ticket - perhaps an amount that I would only ever pay once, I don't think I'd take my shot at this fixture like. That’s where I’m at, don’t want to blow my load now and find out we’ve got an fa cup final against Palace or somebody in a few months time.
Groundhog63 Posted yesterday at 16:34 Share Posted yesterday at 16:34 As I've said, probs having a few of the family over to watch it on the box. Had a look at corporate, just out of interest, and baulked at the cost. Similarly to @Doctor Zaius and @Vedder in that there's a big part of me can't see us beating Liverpool so there's that 🙄 Granted, if we do, those in the ground will have their day in history. Plenty people I know are attending various events in town etc as well and they, too, will have an absolute blast. Communal grief if we lose, a consolation. My wingwoman is happy to stay in and watch it here. She, above anyone else, is my football partner in crime now so I'm happy to be here too. Got a brother coming. My old fella, who I haven't watched a cup final with with since 1974 and sister. Not sure about Jnr but it'll be canny. I'll put some scran on and have a few swallies. Again, as I've said, IF we win I'm high fucking tailing it into town because it will be absolutely jumping. Told her, she's coming as well. Just might, just might, be The Awakening. Whitley mag Posted yesterday at 21:59 Share Posted yesterday at 21:59 Probably will end up forking out daft money at some point on the off chance we finally do it, would kick myself for ever if we beat the scousers in the final and I wasn’t there. Whitley mag Posted yesterday at 22:04 Share Posted yesterday at 22:04 This will be even better than Trafalgar Square should be great scenes again on the Saturday night.
AyeDubbleYoo
Strange place to hang out though, not really a big open area like Trafalgar Square.
Groundhog63
Used to enjoy Covent Garden for the buskers and street shows. Deli round there sold the best pastrami and dill pickle ciabatta sarnies as well. Way too posh and refined an area for Toon tramps

OpenC
Aye, no way that's as good a time as the just-five-minutes-away Trafalgar Square imo

OpenC
Aye, I guessed it mustn't be. I can't imagine a lot of businesses at Covent Garden will be over the moon with it as a replacement though
Whitley mag
Loads of decent pubs round Covent, Nags Head, Lamb & Flag, Roundhouse and Punch & Judy to stand outside for civilised folk and a Tesco supermarket for cans when they call time. Most people will just stand outside the bars and hopefully just become a big sing song in the streets, be much better craic than Trafalgar in my humble. Always remember the 90’s appearances at Wembley and Covent was always choca the night before with our fans. Edited 5 hours ago by Whitley mag

Wolfcastle
Plan to put some money on Nunez scoring. Best let him notch in the league game.
OpenC
Aye it's obviously a great part of London, I just don't see it as that great a place for tens of thousands of football fans at the same time we'll see I guess still half considering going down just to document the prematch goings on
Holloway
This is a great little boozer just off the Strand/ Covent garden. They spin vinyl behind the bar, take requests. Cask ales at reasonable prices. Small though, it'll be rammed no doubt

Heron
Possibly a really stupid question, but is it just like North Eastern teams who take over an area of London when at Wembley? Like are Liverpool fans being advised to go to another part of London and congregate somewhere like our lot are? It seems like it's only our side (perhaps for the distance we travel and lots are staying overnight)...

I think the big 5 and Spurs are either already in London so don't bother with the whole Saturday night thing, or are that used to going to Wembley now they don't really see it as such a big deal . bigfella
Is the Canadian Club still there, round the corner from Covent Garden? We spent a riotous few hours there before the Chelsea Semi Final in the early 00's. Missed their first goal due to "we've got enough time to get another pint in" with half an hour to go to kick off...
Holloway
The taking over of designated areas could produce sniggering in some quarters, but who gives a shite, make it a festival. Sort of the opposite to those snidey man u types

Find it a bit of a mildly embarrassing feature of both our own and Sunderland’s trips to Wembley to be honest.

Dont think it's embarrassing that folk want to join together and have a good time to be honest. Just think it's more of a concern that we're kinda happy-go-lucky runners ups. Really want the fans and team to bring their A game on the final day and not the night before this time.
