Do they still play the Jarrow Song at SJP? (I didn't know it was called the Jarrow Song til just now)

Heard at a game not so long ago. Think they might have stopped playing it regularly when he reminded everyone he supported Sunderland ?. I have to say though, I love the song.

I know Paul Smith's a Smoggy and sounds like one, but The Coast is Always Changing is such a banger that I always associate with going home.

Also A19 from their outtakes record

Need Blitzkreig Bop in there obviously. You could also pay tribute to the stadium DJ by hoying on the New Radicals, since SJP was the only place that song was ever heard after they ceased to trouble the charts

With the Metro Radio stylee voice overs! (Still gets the hairs on the back of neck up). Some clever person could probably update the goal shouts from this campaign/current players.

Oh! And it’s not a banger but Sailing to Philadelphia is worth a mention (and a listen if you don’t know it):

? I am Jeremiah Dixon
I am a Geordie boy!
A glass of wine with you, sir
And the ladies I'll enjoy
All Durham and Northumberland
Is measured up by my own hand
It was my fate from birth
To make my mark upon the earth?

LYRICS:

(I was) looking forward to see you my friend

We were closer

than we’d ever been before

An eleven made in heaven

For the Gallowgate End

We would finally find a way to bring it home

And it felt like a Movie

Everytime you put on your shoes

No one brought the beauty

To the beautiful game

Like you

That fur coat, big smile on your face, celebrations

You had something for us all

A glass of wine before the game, but on the field you came

Poor Vickers is still looking for the ball

And it felt like a Movie

Everytime you put on your shoes

No one brought the beauty

To the beautiful game

Like you

All the colorful memories

I don’t know, are they false or true? (I don’t care if they’re false or true)

No one gave us the beauty

Of the beautiful game

Like you

For days and weeks you would be gone

The TSC knocked on the door to your home, where your father played the drum

And it felt like a Movie

Everytime you put on your shoes

No one brought the beauty

To the beautiful game

Like you

When I think of the memories

I don’t care if it’s false or true

No one gave us the beauty

Of the beautiful game

Like you

Anyone remember being in Idols back in the day when they used to have Alevis Broon on before games. Ahhh man, this takes me back. Loved everything about match days back then.

Official 98 final song(Says Sting - it was written by Sting, but obviously not performed by him)

I bought this in HMV in Leicester Square the night on day we'd lost the final. Staff member was pissing himself, called people over to join in. I was 8.

Sorry but that’s hilarious  it’s a terrible song mind. I bought the cd back in the day

Was in Benidorm in November and met these two owlder blokes from Wallsend who were mortal drunk singing this, had nee idea it was an actual song.

Yep! Either did I, until my mate at Uni who was a massive AC/DC fan showed me it. Informing me Brian Johnson was in lead singer in the band before becoming world famous.
