I never pay too much attention to sums of money from journalists when it comes to transfer "budgets".

 

Literally nobody at the club is going to be telling them how much we have to spend and if they do it'll be to spread false information which will benefit us.

 

We're in a much healthier position  is the general feeling. Even Howe today in his press conference seemed a lot more upbeat about the upcoming Sumner window when he was asked about it.

You only need to look at the chaos and how uncompetitive cricket has become because of India and BCCI throwing their weight around. It’s no longer a level playing field, they’ve got too many advantages. Part of why the PL still has worldwide appeal is the TV deal distributes money equally. If it became lopsided it would completely kill the league. This is definitely the American influence as they’re used to having closed leagues without any jeopardy so they need to sway the rules in their favour to ensure they benefit. None of them really care about sporting integrity they care about making money first and foremost and can’t bear losing their seat on the gravy train.
 

ironically the likes of Man City and us don’t need the money so much so they genuinely want to dominate the sporting aspects because of the soft power it gives them.

 Aye it's just pure speculation from Hope.  He even admits in the video he hasn't received any information regarding budget

The closed league thing is 100% true, that least in the NFL they split almost all revenue equally. That and the draft system tries to ensure everyone is competitive. I would NOT want to see all that adopted in English football, I like it the way it is.

I don't think we need a huge budget and to make loads of changes, we just need to add two or three quality players to our first team squad. One decent sale (Longstaff for example) on top of the Lloyd Kelly money should give us enough wiggle room, given we'll be seeing the back of another 4 or 5. Might even get something decent for Targett and Pope, given we managed to find a buyer for Kelly I'm sure we could find someone to take those two off us as well.

 

Qualify for the CL, build a new ground and we'll be cush.

So the Premier League allowed them to count the Women's team and hotel sales as income therefore no punishment. UEFA aren't letting them count it as income but are just going to issue a fine?

I’m assuming once you’ve sold the women’s team you can no longer offset any costs for PSR purposes, or will Chelsea also have a way around that ?
