Pre sales & releases? If so that's a decent starting point.

Not when the teams we are trying to catch can spend £150-250m.

Not saying it’s all about money… but it normally is unfortunately.

For me they're in some ways worse than the big six. At least the big six are clubs with proper ambition and support. Those are clubs that but for their geographical location being attractive to players would be languishing in league one or below, while clubs in the north and midlands with proper premier league level support can't get a foothold in the PL.

Nah most top 6 clubs are just in it for money. Man U Spurs Liverpool have no interest in being as good as they can be.

I think Hope is a good journalist despite all the hate for him in here. Douglas and Edwards also said we are in a strong position. The strongest we have been since our first transfer windows.

Any journalist who uses the term "budget" in a world of PSR, still doesn't understand PSR. Craig Hope still thinks it's 2010 with transfer budgets.

Sounds like Hope knows fuck all tbh.

If we fail to get CL he "thinks" the budget "could" be only 50-60m

I never pay too much attention to sums of money from journalists when it comes to transfer "budgets".

Literally nobody at the club is going to be telling them how much we have to spend and if they do it'll be to spread false information which will benefit us.

We're in a much healthier position  is the general feeling. Even Howe today in his press conference seemed a lot more upbeat about the upcoming Sumner window when he was asked about it.

The entitlement from the red cartel is unbelievable.

It wasn't so long ago that they suggested they brought in the most revenue out of the 20 teams, so should be entitled to more money.

Dog ends.

You only need to look at the chaos and how uncompetitive cricket has become because of India and BCCI throwing their weight around. It’s no longer a level playing field, they’ve got too many advantages. Part of why the PL still has worldwide appeal is the TV deal distributes money equally. If it became lopsided it would completely kill the league. This is definitely the American influence as they’re used to having closed leagues without any jeopardy so they need to sway the rules in their favour to ensure they benefit. None of them really care about sporting integrity they care about making money first and foremost and can’t bear losing their seat on the gravy train.

ironically the likes of Man City and us don’t need the money so much so they genuinely want to dominate the sporting aspects because of the soft power it gives them.

Aye it's just pure speculation from Hope.  He even admits in the video he hasn't received any information regarding budget

The closed league thing is 100% true, that least in the NFL they split almost all revenue equally. That and the draft system tries to ensure everyone is competitive. I would NOT want to see all that adopted in English football, I like it the way it is.

I don't think we need a huge budget and to make loads of changes, we just need to add two or three quality players to our first team squad. One decent sale (Longstaff for example) on top of the Lloyd Kelly money should give us enough wiggle room, given we'll be seeing the back of another 4 or 5. Might even get something decent for Targett and Pope, given we managed to find a buyer for Kelly I'm sure we could find someone to take those two off us as well.

Qualify for the CL, build a new ground and we'll be cush.

Premier league haven’t allowed it yet I don’t think? Should be something clubs get an urgent meeting and close this loophole, just like the cunts came together urgently to try and ban sales and loans straight back, because they thought we would loan the likes of Neves etc.

They did have an urgent meeting about it, and decided not to ban it as it would end all of these multi club ownership models.

Villa also considering selling their Women's team now, as they might be struggling to meet the 3 year PSR loss limit. (Times Sport)

I know our womens team isn't top flight (yet), but the rapid advancement up the leagues, and crowds they attract, must put a decent valuation on them, no?

Howay man, the whole thing’s a fucking joke. We should be trying to improve this shitshow rather than looking for our own ways to cheat the system. Something that’s equitable is the only way forward
