Can't stop watching that strike.

If that's in a PL game with a bit more at stake than just being an early course-correcting equaliser, it's our goal of the season.

It's on par with Isak (Liverpool) and Ben Arfa (Everton), only beaten by Martins (Spurs) imo, for strikes on the past 20 year that I can remember.

Such a shame it was 'wasted' against Bromley, no keeper in the worpd saves it

Really? I mean it was a good hit but at a medium height and not hit with the venom of the Robert thunderblasters (I know that's more than 20 years ago). St Maximin and Schar have had better hits in recent history.

Robert's were usually further out but hit with an arced trajectory, I may be forgetting a proper stinger from him though.

I just love strikes where the ball seens to barely move in the air and arrows past the keeper, Isak's is probably the best example as you can see the ball barely turning on it's axis once it was hit.

Robert's collection is absolutely off the charts, like. The Liverpool one in the thumbnail probably his cleanest/straightest hit a la Miley/HBA.

I think it might have just been positive PR for him, but I remember someone saying Tonali had the hardest shot in the squad.

After Sunday's evidence, I respectfully disagree.

It’s such a bummer that they’ve coached all that out of players these days.

I agree with Jonny. Osula’s goal was better. Still a belter, of course.

On the season, Barnes at Wolves and Isak against Liverpool beat it. So without trying too hard to remember any others. It’s top 5, for sure.

Fuck. I love Laurent Robert.

Always enjoy watching this when I see it pop up. Also tinged with a bit of sadness as it reminds me how long ago it was and how old I now am

Just now, Geordie Ahmed said:

Not sure if it was others being fatigued but he looked fairly quick too

He looked quicker vs Bromley too.

Also another clear indication that Howe has him above Longstaff in the pecking order.

  • 3 weeks later...

It’s time for him to be starting ahead of Big Joe, especially for home games. Yesterday against Fulham - and against Bournemouth too - it’s clear we can’t control a game with the current midfield.

He’s a talent - probably the best one to come through in a decade - and needs games to progress further.

Had to go and find Miley on the second page. I think he flies under the radar a lot, he's not flashy, doesn't get into fights and get booked, he just gets on with it. He finds space and virtually never wastes a pass. He's press resistant and never seems hurried. He does need to get more involved, the more we ask him to do the more he'll show what a good footballer he is. Not at all sure what his best position is yet but that will come.

He's extremely calm on the ball for his age, and very neat and tidy. If he started alongside Bruno and Tonali, I think we'd see a much better player and he'd certainly be more forward thinking. He's going to be class

That was a tough game for anyone last night and as an 18 year those 105 minutes will have been great experience.

Agree with the comments above, he's very calm and assured in all situations, even against top European CL sides as he showed last season.

There's a lot more to come from him in terms of the eye catching stuff, final passes, set pieces and scoring goals but for now he's ticking along nicely.
