the safe standing was implemented entirely for health & safety purposes, to stop getting fined off the Premier League. absolutely nothing to do with atmosphere or making it a better experience for fans.

But a trial would suggest further implementation could be possible, this is stuff trust/trusts should be pushing not random shite

Pretty sure I heard "Slap your lass with a Christmas tree!" On the telly like.

Aye that and a few other older ones, everyone seemed to get behind them

"Oh when the beans come out the tin".  I've honestly got a tear in my eye.

Poor again yesterday, btw.

Was in block V at the back and for most of it, there wasn’t much singing going on and only smatterings coming from towards the GEC.

Yeah, I was in the GEC, a good atmosphere, the guy behind me was carrying it.

I heard nothing from anything outside of the Strawberry corner though.

I can only attend games during the holiday period due to living abroad and did notice the atmosphere yesterday was poor, same time last year the stadium was buzzing.

We were probably near each other, bloke stood next to me had a voice like a foghorn and never stopped singing / starting chants

The Strawberry Corner renditions of Gallowgate Giz A Song were met with deafening silence from the Gallowgate

Was thinking y’day how much better it is in grounds when the most vocal home fans are near the away fans, as both sides can trade insults, chants & songs

From most of our noisy section you can’t even see or hear the away fans, they might as well not be in the ground

I stand in strawberry corner thought this was quite telling yesterday. Apart from a few in the galliwgate who sit right near the strawberry corner, the song singing "no noise from the gallowgate" was met with no reaction at all.

Think a few in the Gallowgate might have joined in with Blaydon Races during 2nd half, but it was sung at makina MC speed and only lasted a nanosecond

The exponential speeding up after every word of the Blaydon Races annoys me to no end [emoji38]

On the whole the atmosphere was embarrassing imo.

Saturday 3pm, winning 4-0 after an up and down season and not a peep from like 47k people. It's like folk just want there to be something to moan about (and ironically here I am moaning).

I don't actually understand it if I'm honest - if you want to see the football, then you most likely (despite SJP having a lot of great views of the game) will see a better angle on the tele (with replays, etc.).

If you're going for the atmosphere, then surely you help make an atmosphere as well as take in the atmosphere?

Why else would you be at the game?
