That's the reason why another standing end is needed in the leaves, the song book will increase and knowledge more, it just proves last though that alot of members are far more passionate than alot of season ticket holders.

Fuck the new ground off. Knock the Gallowgate down, rebuild a huge, steep, single tiered stand and tell all the owldies who want to sit there in silence to go elsewhere in the stadium and move like minded people there. Get groups of mates standing together.

 

Safe standing in the Leazes level 4 as you suggest also. Get the two ends singing and if the sleep walkers elsewhere don’t want to join it, it’ll still be class.

First time up in leazes L7 for me in yonks and I thought it was areet (I'm barracks for reference).

 

The noise from strawberry corner travelled and there was plenty willingness up L7 to sing-a-long, although maybe stopping short of full coordinated starting of songs.

It pisses me off no end that the standing section in the leazes is given to the away fans, I mean what is that all about? Wor flags should refuse to do anything more till they sort that out and convert the whole Gallowgate.

Was in the Gallowgate Upper last night. Atmosphere was decent up there, nothing special, but not bad at all. 

 

2nd half I stood with my mate in the Strawberry Corner and thought it was excellent in there.

The lower two levels of the gallowgate really need to be safe standing. The corner makes all the noise but it simply doesn't travel across the gallowgate to other areas. You see other grounds where everyone is standing regardless yet we don't have this, certainly need to move some folk about.

Like wor flags but I really think all flags should be put away for a while. Might look good for 5 mins before kick off but it when it's translating to silence in the stand that's doing 'displays' then its utter pointless

The club clamped down on what was a really good "unnofficial" standing area in lower Gallowgate (Block A) at start of last season

 

Cease & Desist letters sent to ST holders, saying get your arses back on the plastic immediately or you'll get banned

 

Atmosphere went from great to grim at the next few games, was very depressing

I know what you mean, I love Wor Flags and all they do but it's not really a major factor in the overall atmosphere after the game has started. 

 

A spin-off Wor Songs might be worth a try. Hand out song sheets, and/or have people in each area dedicated to starting chants etc. Could even coordinate the different parts of the ground. 

 

That said, there is much more to football atmosphere than singing, especially in the UK. Personally I think overall atmosphere has been decent recently even if it's more in the form of shouting, abusing players, making general noise rather than consistent chants.

Decent up the back of Gallowgate I thought. More and more people are starting to stand further along towards the Milburn in the back few rows.
