There was always someone in the strawberry corner who could mimick the referees whistle just before half time and every time I heard him do it it seemed to put our players off more than anything. Could never under what he thought he was doing.

The fuck is he whistling for?

I think it's to try and put the opposition team off as it was every time they had the ball.

And it's the two fingers in your mouth kind of whistle some cocky kid would do at school.

I was expecting two sheep dogs to turn up with a flock of sheep at half time.

Seriously up and down tonight, although I was in the East Stand so take it with a pinch of salt.

Atmosphere was too influenced by events on the pitch rather than the other way around. Shouldn't be like that for such a big game. Felt like large sections of the crowd gave up on us at 0-0 in the Champions League against Barca, when we were playing pretty well. Baffling.

It was great for 25 mins, then up and down from then on. Felt like if we’d have scored first it would have gone mental. It was weird around me in the Milburn paddock, loads of people clapping but hardly anyone singing.

fucking hell.

did she watch any of the game?

Aye she was bang into it.

Was someone a couple of rows infront who must’ve filmed the whole second half mind. Fair enough trying to get them banned.

With such a loud start, I was expecting a more electric atmosphere. Instead, it felt like there were too many daytrippers around today who were only interested in seeing Barca play.

I ended up chatting with a group of Saudi guys who somehow got tickets in the home section; even if some wore home tops (most sported half-and-half scarves though) it was clear they weren’t really that invested in us winning the game. Probably a few in like that tonight, which never helps.

Soon as Barca got hold of possession, was always going to be difficult to hold an atmosphere for the whole game.

They must be at every league game

It was very good up L7 next to the away fans, everyone just buzzing to have picked up a late ticket I guess.

Plenty people pissing off at 2 nil as well

Not sure if thats what caused the fight in the corner or not...anyone else see it?

Looked like something happened in the Leazes under the away end about 10 mins from the end as well.

Thought the atmosphere was great for 20 minutes and then good in spells. People were leaving at 1-2 as well, “wuh’ve got the bestest fans in world” the same dribbling cunts will tell you.

Any idea what for?

From what I was told the first was for launching something at Rashford and the second was for being Barca fans.

First CL game I’ve been too of recent and it’s definitely a different crowd to your standard PL/cup game on the sly.
