Wonder how much it costs to add metal rails in front of a few thousand seats.

Less than one weekly pay packet for a purple probably.

And as I recall, they only made The Corner and the away end railed because large amounts of people were stood up anyway and it was easier to put rails in than try to make them sit down.

Seems the club has an aversion to safe standing whereas loads of other clubs are embracing it, I’d be intrigued to know why NUFC are so resistant.

Are the supporters trust making right noises though, like to think they are constantly taking this to the club.

I'm a broken record at this point, but the only reason safe standing was implemented was because of PL pressure due to health and safety concerns. it was nothing at all about trialing it for a better atmosphere or whatever bullshit they told people.

and the cost is ~£100 per seat

they've had architects in most weeks since the season finished.

converting 2/3rds of the away section into safe standing as soon as the license gets approved, at a cost of £100 per seat. will be looking at other areas after that, strawberry corner and sections of the gallowgate obvious candidates.

the safe standing was implemented entirely for health & safety purposes, to stop getting fined off the Premier League. absolutely nothing to do with atmosphere or making it a better experience for fans.

So the way to force safe standing is to stand persistently in seated areas - enough people that they give up trying to force people to sit. Difficult without some proper organisation.

They will review cctv and ban people through the post like they have done in the past

The stewards have been up  the stairs in the corner last 2 home games. Wouldn't be surprised if some of the people persistently standing on them get a letter..

Said it a few times on here when it happened, but post takeover and pre-ballot I would usually get the same seat in the front block of the Gallowgate, the last block before the East Stand corner flag.

Everyone would always stand and sing and it was class.

Start of 23/24 season all of the ST’s had letters from the club telling them to sit down or have their ST revoked.

As a result the atmosphere went from consistently loud to total silence.

Trying to account for the fact I was in the strawberry corner, where it’s going to be better regardless, but even still, my impression was it was good today for a Fulham home game. Crowd really urging us on for a winner.

Definitely experienced worse, including Tuesday gone.

Last 10 minutes when we had them pinned back, the power of the crowd really helped. Shame people fucked off, weird.

yep I feared the worst when the game kicked off but generally thought the crowd were trying to push the team on and like you say that last 20 minutes was very good.

If I was playing at SJP I really wouldn't want the ref getting the crowds back up - sure that made a difference today.

Yep, never noisier than when there’s been an injustice, perceived or actual!

Thought it was quite good today, driven by the ref.

The amount of people booing the players taking the knee though :anguish:

Yeah. People’re just fed up with it. Doesn’t mean they’re racist or anything.

On an unrelated note should we have not done the Rememberace Day stuff today given it's our last home league game before then?

Aye I thought that's why they'd stopped the music and looked down expecting to see the people with their wreaths etc

If people care enough to boo for players taking a knee, then that says something about them that is not particularly pleasant.

Yes, true. It does show a lack of patience in having the same issue rammed down our throats every time we watch a match.
