It was very audible in the ground. Embarrassing.

TBH I think it’s more like an identity signal than anything else, that’s the only way I can understand it. People saying that they’re not part of the wokerati and they’re a proud flag shagger. Just trying to support their own team in the culture war.

What’s this ‘flag shagger’ business? Reminds me of the Palestine flags you see frequently in England these days.

Is this a joke?

All the people putting up English flags in the streets?

I think he’s referring to the Union Jacks and St George crosses hanging out of house windows, hoisted on flag poles and tied to lampposts and how they’re a thinly veiled demonstration of racism and xenophobia.

One birthday in the early 90’s when I was about 13 or 14 I asked my mam & dad if my present that year could be Dorien deflowering me.

They got me a brown leather jacket from a shop near the Grainger Market instead.

Michelle Collins and Lesley Joseph. Jesus wept Robert lad that’s an acquired taste.

I think during the equivalent period I was wearing out a pirated VHS from Cyprus. Under Siege and the birthday cake scene with Erika Eleniak.

Definitely the loudest it's been up at the back of the Gallowgate, was just a handful previously, but I'd now describe it as something approaching a throng.

Aye, I was suprised.

I thought we were better than that.

The booing of the knee on Saturday was rank, never heard it like that before. The Reform effect?

First time at SJP but it’s been booed elsewhere regularly. I’m sure Millwall booed it when it first happened.

It was loud in the corner too, I felt pretty conspicuous clapping.

Fella two along from me loudly scoffed and turned to me to say something and then stopped when he saw me clapping away

I think the whole concept of safe standing areas and relocating existing s/t holders is that emotive that neither the club or the supporters groups are engaging with it.

Could only see NUSC maybe taking it forward given their membership base seems a bit more of the radgie demographic.

Valid point, just feel like it might be only opportunity we have if these fan groups get together and push this to club

Hard disagree. Local Hero is a banger and "North London Forever" is the most corny sappy-eyed horseshit football anthem of all time.

I get proper douche chills whenever I see middle-aged Arsenal fans belting it out.

I think a football anthem should have lyrics, and local hero irritates me but I respect your opinion.

I used the Arsenal one as an example of an anthem that everyone knows the words to and sings passionately before a game, I was not saying that the actual anthem isn't cringey and douchey.
