I think he’s referring to the Union Jacks and St George crosses hanging out of house windows, hoisted on flag poles and tied to lampposts and how they’re a thinly veiled demonstration of racism and xenophobia.

I was just watching until I heard the booing then started clapping because it felt like was the right thing to do to. Like trying to show some support for the players in the face of what seemed like unnecessary and unpleasant hostility.

I think the whole concept of safe standing areas and relocating existing s/t holders is that emotive that neither the club or the supporters groups are engaging with it.

 

Could only see NUSC maybe taking it forward given their membership base seems a bit more of the radgie demographic.

I used the Arsenal one as an example of an anthem that everyone knows the words to and sings passionately before a game, I was not saying that the actual anthem isn't cringey and douchey.
