Would've expected higher. When I tell fans of other clubs our prices they usually say they're cheaper than they pay. Especially London.

Not that it's really an important point on the atmosphere.

It helps PSR (it doesn’t) and if you won’t pay it I will iirc.

Our prices are a fucking disgrace tbph and it proper fucks me off that so many of our lot either actually go into bat for them (even seen that on here) or are just meh about it.

The price hike this year for membership tickets has definitely been prohibitive for me. I live abroad and can't really justify paying these prices on my budget. Normally I'd attend 5-6 matches per season but this season I'll probably end up going to 1 or 2.

Despite the price hike it seems to be FAR more difficult obtaining tickets this season compared to last.

I'm cutting back. Didn't apply for Saturday, did apply for Palace (knocked back), didn't apply for Leeds (got offered one anyway which I've knocked back).

Don't see me renewing my membership next season either. By the time you pay your membership fee and then the extortionate ticket costs it amounts to a small fortune. Now way should it be costing £58-£97 for a ticket to watch a football match in the North East of England.

Had a look at my Emma app and including merch, every home game for me and the odd 3x ticket buy with the missus and the kid I've spent £3.5K on NUFC in the past 2 calendar years.

Wild and too fucking much really.

Tier 4 on the ST waiting list for you.

Seriously though, that is mental.

Don't think I'll be far off that. Plus I'm doing Leverkusen next week which is going to see me for the best part of a grand I reckon £420 for the flights £200 for a hotel, £40 for the ticket then I'll spend £200/£300 over there. Actually think it'll be my last match for quite a long time.

Had a look at what I've spent since 23/24 and this isn't even particularly accurate, as at times I've sat in the Milburn last season and the one before so the totals are probably a little bit lower than actuality.

2023–24: £1,345

2024–25: £1,267

2025–26 (so far): £730

Honking stuff. If they go up again I'll almost certainly have to knock a few on the head.

Since Aug 2022 I've spent £3,830 on home tickets.

I usually go solo, usually in the cheap seats. Think I've taken my youngin to 5 games at £20 a pop.

Canny galling to see all the £30-35 transactions going out, whereas now they're all £47-60 transactions.

There'll also be my Oct 21-May 22 spends, but a mate bought those tickets for me on his ST and I paid him back.

Conclusion: My crack habit is less expensive and at least my dealer gives me some positive recognition for all the money I spend with him.

Still can't understand how a family enclosure is next to away end.. can't think of any other ground where that is case. It's probably not best experience for young kids either

Not a club but Wembley does it for England games, with the "home end" at the opposite end of the stadium, half the problem with the place being dead but the FA won't change it

Ticket prices are expensive and have shot up rapidly, but how often you go, how many shirts etc you buy, where you travel to, and in what style, really are lifestyle choices like anything else, albeit one that most of us have very little choice in because we were born into it.

It might be golf, theatre, good restaurants, travel or many different things, it all adds up and it gets expensive.

Wasn’t it brought in under Ashley? They extended the L7 family section all the way round to the corner. Clearly to just disband the singing section and stop the nasty songs about the fat cUntroller.

I used to have my ST up there and whilst the noise didn’t always carry or encourage others. Been up there with neutrals and they said it was wild up there and loud as fuck. 5-1 sunderland and 4-4 Arsenal were insane.

Stupid idea at the time and it still is today. No idea why it’s not been changed.

Yep. The Curva Nord was the best part of the ground for a while but singing “we don’t care about Ashley, he don’t care about me” on repeat for ages most games meant he couldn’t wait to disband the singing section and add millions of billions of family seats

The Friday night game when we howked Cardiff was one of the best atmospheres I’ve experienced both in and out of the ground. Curva Nord was going beserk

Ha. Was there for that also. I remember a lad near us giving it some and saying he’ll get the round in. As he had first scorer (Carroll?) and 5-0. Only for Cardiff to bag a consolation in the 89th

When the crowds died off a bit during Ashley's time here Level 7 took the hardest hit as it was the least popular part of the ground. Incredibly it was priced exactly the same as the East Stand and Milburn Paddocks back then. When crowds started to drop to the low/mid 40,000s, Level 7 was pretty empty so to fill it back up he turned it into a family enclosure and sold off the tickets dirt cheap. Before then the Family enclosure was directly underneath where the away fans are now, in which I think is the Park Grill section.

He extended it around to the corner to disband the singing section as we used to sing about him being a fat cockney rapist amongst various other insults and he spat the dummy out.

Cardiff on the Friday night was brilliant and level 7 at its best. Notable also for a famous Cardiff hooligan begging for Police protection after giving it the large one.

Still think Level 7 corner and the NW corner below all standing would make a massive difference to the SJP atmosphere.

Brilliant night. My old mate from work brought Gazza into the Three Bulls to meet us for a pint but he got absolutely mobbed in there so we ended up going to Pacific for a game of pool as it was much quieter. Gazza was off his tits and didn't go to the match so we just left him in there.

Woke up the next day to find out he was arrested outside The Gate that night [emoji38]

Our current owners must really wish they hadn't inherited such a massive family section. It was only made that big because Ashley was desperate to put bums on seats.
