Scott McTominay

Recommended Posts

Whatever the rest of the window brings, whether it be Jackson, McGinn, DCL or whoever, this lanky twat turning out to be a Ballon D’Or nominee should serve as a timely reminder that Eddie knows better than all of us.

Scotland supporters always saw a different version of McTominay than the one judged harshly in the English game.

He’s always had more to his game - leadership, drive, and crucially, end product. He would've been a smart, athletic upgrade on Longstaff, and with the homegrown value Sean carried, we missed the chance to evolve that role earlier.

The meltdowns that used to happen every time we were linked with this guy

Now he's a Ballon d'Or nominee for goodness sake. That is just too funny man

Distinctly recall someone insisting he was a league 2 player and fuming at us being linked ;D

It was constant.  He's never getting nominated for the Ballon d'Or but some of the takes on John McGinn were equally as bad yesterday tbh

Like I said elsewhere, McGinn could be like Gary McCallister signing for Liverpool and being fucking superb.

No McCallister had much more class and a proven track record of leadership etc than McGinn has ever had

Yes. He won the league with Leeds in 1992 but other than that his career was pretty pedestrian until he went to Liverpool at 36 years old and won a cup treble.

I remember feeling dread when he was fleetingly linked with us. I'd say I was wrong but I truly think he needed to go to Napoli and do what he's done in order to push on - I don't think it'd have gone this way if he'd stayed in the PL. Fair play.
