Player of the Season: Joelinton, Botman & Isak, can't split them.

Most Improved Player of the Season: Longstaff and Murphy.

Most Disappointing Player: Gordon

Signing of the Season: Pope

Goal of the Season: ASM v Wolves

Assist of the season: Willock's v Tottenham

Game of the Season: 6-1 v Tottenham & 2-0 v Man Utd, can't split them with how good we were in both.

Moment of the Season: Willlock's header v Man Utd, that was the moment i really thought top 4 is going to happen.

Manager rating out of 10: 10 despite the final loss

Season rating out of 10: 10 as above.

Agree with all that!

Think it's a tad harsh to say Pope is only a 7 after his red card Nut.

Not as good as he was earlier but he saved penalties against Brentford and Leeds, as well as ensuring we got a draw against Leicester

I think he was good still. His footwork and kicking was shaky though, got away with the penalty v Wolves and there were a few goals I think he could have done better with which brought him down after that.

He saved a lot of penalties during the season aswell as amazing game saving saves at Palace brighton brentford. Against Leicester aswell.

Personal opinion. First half of the season he was world-class. Second half he was the keeper I thought we were signing. A solid keeper with flaws.

Player of the Season: Trippier

Most Improved Player of the Season: Longstaff

Most Disappointing Player: ASM (was brilliant at the start but struggled with injuries and finding his way back into the starting 11 for most of the season)

Signing of the Season: Pope (it'll probably be Isak in the long run)

Goal of the Season: Almiron vs Everton

Assist of the season: Isak at Everton

Game of the Season: Southampton second leg

Moment of the Season: Final whistle in the above game

Manager rating out of 10: 9 (only reason its not a 10 is the two runs of 1 win in 8 at the start and middle of the season)

Season rating out of 10: 10

Were we in 2md place for one night if I remember correctly? Maybe not by the end of the gamweek, but just for one night before the World Cup perhaps?

Player of the Season: Joelinton

Most Improved Player of the Season: Longstaff

Most Disappointing Player: Nobody to be honest - could argue ASM but he started to look really good before his injury in spring. Targett hasn't been disappointing, just unlucky that the defence was so solid.

Signing of the Season: Pope

Goal of the Season: Almiron at Fulham

Assist of the season: Willock vs Spurs

Game of the Season: Spurs (H)

Am I the only who gets a bit pissed off with the ‘top 10 would’ve been a good season’ tripe? We finished 11th last season purely on the basis of a top 4 (38 points I think) second half of the campaign, and strengthened the squad significantly in 2022. 9th or 10th would’ve represented regression.
