Can't help loving Bruno.

Can see why so many of our fans take so much enjoyment over discussing how much we can sell him for.

goes back to when people randomly say "bruno shouldn't be captain" when clearly he's the emotional heart and soul of the team - he's friends and close with every single one of the players and staff. He's a genuine good man on and off the pitch by all accounts, and he's our standard setter, a torch taken from Trippier.

The leadership group of Jamaal, Trippier, Burn, Wilson, Longie and Bruno make a whole lot of sense to me. Some will be moved on, and others will step up. I don't doubt that Gordon, Isak, Fab, Botman will find their way there too at some point.

We are absolutely blessed to have Bruno and Tonali in the same midfield - who'd have thought a few years back that we'd have the mainstays of the Brazil and Italy national teams in our engine room. Long may it continue. Now let's start fucking some PL teams up.

Yep it was only 4 years ago we had Shelvey and Hayden/Hendrick starting.

really enjoying his performances as a 6. He's much better at receiving the ball than I expected.

Once Bruno has more playing time as an 8 I expect his performances will pick up too, which is exciting.

I suspected the wait to get Sandro in the middle has been more about Bruno learning RCM than Sandro's form/fitness.

"we look better with longstaff"

There's a cult like minority who feel obliged to agree with everything Howe does.

We might be be armchair managers but you don't need have done your badges to see the stark levels in quality between the two.

Agreed. The only logical solution is EH had what he thought were good reasons to do what he did. He's earned the benefit of the doubt.

The cult of thinking that when it comes down to it, Eddie Howe has shown himself to know better than some fickle know-nowt gobshites on Twitter.

The same cult there was when the same nonsense happened under Rafa.

the turn of 2017-2018 was the pits on here. All that was missing was some dude posting his manifesto before shooting up a mosque.

It make such a difference having a player who can drive one on target from the edge of the box, teams have to come out and mark him and that creates more space.

It's something that frustrates me about Bruno. He just doesn't have a good shot on him.

Between two individuals yes. Between how they fitted in to the team based on the teams performances, and that's Bruno in the middle Tonali to the right or Longstaff, it's not so clear cut based on what I actually watched.

Says a lot about Bruno that he has given up his position for the newer lad despite being amazing for us there since joining, and the fact that he’s captain as well.

I think Bruno is happier in the new role tbh.

Tbf he hadn't been so great there this season. He'd set such a high bar.

Bruno has previously said he prefers to play higher up as an 8.

Also, when he first joined and was in the team with Shelvey, that's where he played, with Shelvey sitting deeper.

Think he'll actually be excited with now being played there again.

He did and also said he’s happy to play wherever the gaffa wants him to play  Bet he’d play in goal too [emoji38]

“I think I can play No 6, 8, 10…” Guimaraes told Sky Sports following his two goals during the important 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, Newcastle’s second-successive Premier League away win. “The gaffer gave me freedom.”

Nominally a left-sided No 8, Guimaraes was given licence to roam and regularly popped up in a No 10 position. No wonder he felt liberated.
