Would be a sublime Waxxa, or official Toon media now they're fucking mint, video of him stood at Vindolanda. Arms crossed, mist rising.

It's so good to see this guy playing with a smile on his face. He made a horrendous start here, on and off the pitch. I thought it was all going to end in tears.

By all accounts, when he was in deep shit far from home, Eddie really circled the wagons and helped him through. He may have saved his life, not just his career.

Made the difference yesterday imo.

Yep. We were crying out for come control of the game. Whilst it was disjointed and frantic second half. We were the better side and managed to slow things down a bit and keep recycling the ball.

I’m sure Howe would have had a word. As we approached it differently from the whistle in that second half. But he meant we won the midfield battle.

I actually thought Birmingham were also architects of their own downfall. It seemed second half they were more interested in booting us and as a result the game naturally slowed down too. Probably becaus they knew they'd tire, etc.

But aye, I agree. Sandro gave us that dynamism and control for sure.

Gambling is my best guess.

What a player though eh?

They must have known.  He was worth the wait though - just a quality player who seems to be getting better each time I see him play.

Not first priority but I would love to see us add a very good LCM to play with Sandro and Bruno. One that is very good  on the ball and in general play.

Didn’t score many points but that Dembele who used to play for Tottenham would have been the profile I’d be looking at. The Belgian player. Or similar attributes.  Miley is a great talent but not property ready quite yet

Have been thinking this ever since Sandro started to look like an elite player. We're one player away from having a truly unbelievable midfield; it's very tempting to invest there again to make it happen. Mind you it makes the Anderson thing all the more frustrating. He'd be the one in there right now imo.

Gibbs-White is the one. Would likely cost too much though.

But I agree, it needs to be a priority to have a real 4th choice in that area in the same class as Bruno, Tonali and Jo.

I don’t think Anderson is all that imho. Even though he has done very well there. Just feel like he’s the right fit at the club where he is.

Agree, we should pull out the stops to get another elite midfielder for lcm. In any other era we are on the brink of something special. The fact we can’t buy players to compliment the quality we have is so frustrating. We have 4 players who Grace any team in England, complimented by a handful of quality players and then some great grafters to support them. 3 additions to the first 11, with no injuries and we can go toe to toe with anyone in a one off game. Sadly we need another 10 players to challenge on all fronts.

if we can keep the core, and mother age doesn’t beat us down, we have the potential to be the best team in England. Sadly, I just don’t see it happening as I dream, and we remain stuck in no man’s land bobbing between mid table and top 5.

If I were a quality young player with time for a career to develop, we are the best destination is England. I’m just less sure a player at their peak pick us, until the financial handcuffs are off.

Its both the most exciting and the most annoying time to be invested in this team.

Barella would be the one for me.

He's now 27.

I know that isn't particularly old but in the world we live now, we ain't paying 50m for someone who has no sell on value. He'd absolutely class though.

Personally, I think we will be looking in the 22/23 bracket, with someone who we believe can be the next Barella.

Adam Wharton is 21, he's perfect, if it wasn't for the fact Crystal Palace will want 150m or some shit.
