I honestly can’t separate Bruno and Sandro. Sandro’s everywhere , he reads the game brilliantly, always in the right spot, and keeps things ticking with quick, uncomplicated passes. He makes the whole team function better.

But Bruno… he’s the spirit of the side. He gives everything, has that flair and X-factor.

Sandro brings control and intelligence, Bruno brings passion and inspiration.

Tonali does need a pay rise mind.  We know years left on a contract alone isn’t enough to keep a player. 

Sometimes players don’t want to push for the wages if they’re settled. The wage rise will come naturally.
 

Once someone gets to £200k, there’s then like a very small amount of clubs who can pay more than that if you want to stay in Europe. Italy is off for him, then it’s just PSG, Bayern, Real, Barca and the English sides. 
 

And whilst Tonali is a rolls Royce for us, the other clubs may view him at £250k pw and £100m fee as not worth it which is great for us.

I remember this rumoured during his ban but I think we assumed it was only a year extension. Very savvy move by the club though and what would have been a massive vote of confidence for him.

Yeah I always presumed he'd had the 1 year extension. This is good news that we got the extra year - but also does show a high level of faith in him given the circumstances.

Hopefully he sees getting paid £120k a week or whatever he's on for 9 months suspended as grounds to not come looking for a pay rise any time soon.

Thought it was clear from all the stuff that came out after, that the not for the sale stance ended a lot earlier then it being the final few days. 
 

Liverpool come back earlier in window with £125m, he’d have been off.

Suds and Bunce = added football technical staff. Brilliant moves on that front. 
 

And no way man. Tonali was handled by Amanda, Ashworth and Howe. The club rallied around him and put an arm around him. You really think Mitchell, the “elite” man would have done the same? Extended his contract etc. there’s 0 finesse in Mitchell’s history. All evidence of his time with us was he was a bull in a china shop.
