Turnbull2000
The Comical headlining it as a contract 'bombshell'. What a fucking load of clickbait junk as usual from them. Edited October 22, 2025 by Turnbull2000

timeEd32
This is great news, but as others have said we are still going to need to give him a raise. Hopefully will be fairly straightforward given the loyalty on both sides.
oldtype
Ross Wilson is so good that he went back in time to get the Tonali extension done.
Moose
Great news, surely to fuck he gets a chunky pay rise too. Very happy with that, Tino next please.

STM
I suspect Ross Wilson is behind the leaking of this news, probably because its something journalists have likely been pressing him on, being that it was top of the in-tray, or not as the case may be. toontownman
Good news it keeps his value higher for longer. Bad news it means little these days, if someone turns his head with more money he could be off. We will at least get good money for him or hopefully bump his salary up to keep him. Ballsy move from the club though. Aside from the "forcing Tonali to extend at this lowest ebb" it was a big gamble that he would hit the ground running. If he had flopped we could have had him on our payroll a long time!

We know years left on a contract alone isn’t enough to keep a player. Agree. While it's great that he's tied down for a long while, he needs wages that will make him never even consider going anywhere else.

If he had flopped we could have had him on our payroll a long time! It would also further amortise his fee which is a help. A lot of us said he should extend his contract if he was to keep getting paid a full salary and he is. That was fair for all parties.

Fak
Let's not let facts get in the way here. Just applaud the club for announcing the extension one week into Ross Wilson joining the club. Well done Ross!
Stottie
I can't say I was completely convinced by Tonali before the ban, debut vs. Villa aside, so this was a very astute move by the club. They saw something I didn't. I want to stress this because the media narrative was that the way we treated Isak was somehow indicative of us being a clownshow behind the scenes.
