Bruno is a rare thing in todays football. Absolute legend. In general that type of loyalty isn't expected anymore. The quotes from Tonali aren't surprising, and I don't blame him either.

Bruno isn't that good. You will likely struggle to recall more than 5 top performances over the last 6-12 months. He is a bit of an overrated passion merchant.

If we are to move to another level Joelinton and Bruno will be replaced a long time before we'd consider upgrading Sandro.

I mean, in his first 2 seasons he did exceptionally well, and I have no doubts he could have attracted interest from other clubs if he wanted out. People often forget how good or consistent players were more than 1 year ago, unless it involved lots of goals. Lets also not forget that he has started many times over some other excellent midfielders for Brazil. Noone knows what would've happened if he was offered a contract by a top team, but atleast he never pushed for a transfer.

Just to refresh your memory, here are some stats from the 23/24 season, when we struggled through an injury crisis:

He was top 3 of midfielders in PL in several metrics. Nr. 1 in chances created per 90, for instance. I'm sure the story for 22/23 was the same, or even better.

Sorry is there something to be concerned about re those quotes? All he's saying there is that he doesn't want to bullshit anyone.

Aye, the quotes show he has integrity and respect for us. If he goes, he goes but he won’t go as a piece of shit. Personally, I think there’s a very good chance he’s here into at least next season

Sounds to me like he's very committed to being sincere. Can't complain about that, I don't think we need to panic about him leaving just yet, but yeah, realistically he knows there's a chance he leaves at some point. Sounds like there's a chance he stays too, mind.

I was also very impressed with how good he was in his first 1-2 seasons here. He is still a great player no doubt with impressive performances here and there, though he seems to lose possession much more easily these days. And I have to say his creativity is quite overrated, and most here probably wanted us to sign a creative midfielder to take us to the next level (though Ramsey was probably a good option considering what was available). Regarding his stats in 23/24, yes they look impressive, and I agree he had a good season overall then (I remember 7 goals and 8 assists = 15 G/A while playing quite deep). But considering how much of a "go-to guy" he was for us offensively and defensively without Tonali, those stats probably made him look better he really was. As our main guy, his "usage rate" (a stat often used in the NBA) must be really high as he was involved pretty much in everything we did, and hence the stat lines could be flattering a bit. Eye test still supports that he was very good much of that season, and definitely in his first 12 months here. But I genuinely think he is a bit overrated by much of the NUFC fanbase and also by the media, especially when compared to other players like Gordon, Willock, Barnes and Osula who many here are quick to criticise after a few bad games.

That was as good a 'come and get me' if I have ever heard one.

Sorry but you have to show more faith than that to a club who stood by you during your ban.

He's not really being disloyal. He said he's happy and not thinking about any other club, but he can't promise he'll be here in ten years because football.

I honestly can't believe that you have stood up to the masses. If I had posted this comment then I would have been hunted down to my address in Hendon. 😉
