I won't even be able to enjoy the ride TCD. All hope is gone. I honestly thought that if Howe could persuade the big boys to stay for just one more season, playing just one game a week, we could have a shot at the title. Of course a top forward would have to be bought. After that interview yesterday, I'm thinking a major clear out, including Howe, and a new manager working with young players, to sell on at a profit. All sounds very familiar doesn't it? Football is about competing to win something. Yesterday ruined that for me....again.

It's all speculation at this point! Any money made will definitely be reinvested in the squad. Look forward to the Palace game. Let's see what unfolds over the summer. HTL

It's not like me to be a doom monger mate. That interview yesterday (which was posted on here) did not fill me with any confidence. In fact, if it had of come out in the early hours, i would have maybe thought it was an April fool. It came across like we were going to be cartel cucks. I preferred the one he did a few weeks ago. I mean it was full of shite but at least It was positive.

Cant be any worse than the Cashley years. I'll wait and see it unfold over the summer and reserve judgement. I wont get upset about what hasn't happened yet or might happen. Just looking forward to the next game. Internationals can get in the bin [emoji38]

We have absolutely no chance for title in years, nevermind who stays.

I know a lot would have had too go our way, but with a fully fit squad, couple of top tier signings, one game a week and the cartel playing 3 games a week, why not? That's what I've been harping on about mate. Doesn't matter that it was probably out of reach, at least I had that hope.

Ifs buts and maybes. But in a parallel universe where Isak is happy to stay- we sign Etikite, Mbeumo, a good CM, Thiaw, a quality RB/LB - we could’ve done serious bits this season.

If we didn’t lose anyone but had a window like the one last time. A Tonali level winger. A Barnes level CM etc. we do amazing things this season.  We needed one more quality window.

Alas

Ifs, buts and maybe. But in a parallel universe I'm happily married to Anne Hathaway, we live in New Zealand near the beach, Mike sends me death threats. I just needed one quality window and to look like Adam Shulman.

Alas.

With Tonali’s agent allegedly touting him around other clubs after what happened with Isak it does appear that the three-year agent “itch” is a real thing.

An agent mentioned on Sky Sports last year that when a player signs for a new club the payments made to an agent are almost always made over three years. Therefore once a player is at a club for longer than three years the agent is getting no more income from that club.

Inevitably therefore it is the agent’s interests to get the player to move on after three seasons so they can get themselves another windfall.

You mean the cartel with pretty much 2 first team squads playing upto 3 times a week?

Don’t they get paid for renegotiating contracts?

Aye, but the hope and slim chance is better than the wrist slashing news that's coming out of the CEO.

I don’t mean to insult anyone here. But that seems incredibly bipolar?!

Thinking we could challenge for the league (no chance IMO). To catastrophizing like that off the back of an interview?!

You forgot to include that Staveley stays.

I’m aghast that you forgot to put the essential Mandy lubrication back on the well oiled machine.

Hang your head in shame dear boy.

Bipolar? No. Just having a negative reaction to what I thought was an incredibly mid table interview. I can see so much potential in what Howe can achieve, with what we've got now, plus a couple of top tier buys. That had me dreaming for a bit, nothing wrong with that. That idea was shot down after that interview.

They must do, but I imagine (based on no knowledge whatsoever) the amount involved will be dwarfed by how much they get from a big money move.
