Yes, Newcastle are FORCED to sell Tonali because in an era of FFP/PSR/SCR regulations (which Newcastle voted for) spent huge amounts of money on utter garbage last summer.

This is where Andy Howe needs to flex his expertise and bail us out. Now.

Agreed, Fak. Last summer was on Nickson, now he's gone we can really kick on.

On a plus point - Anderson and Tonali aren’t midfielder - goal scorer types

Might reduce City’s goal scoring power

Pep leaving won’t help either

Won’t matter though as they have an embarrassing amount money to burn plus an abundance of youth / talent coming through their academy too

My prediction...he will end up at Arsenal or stay at Newcastle, no City and no Tottenham.

Arsenal aren't exactly short of midfielders - who'd he replace? Zubimendi?

After a good first half of the season Zubimendi has been a real disappointment. Ødegaard has technique and elegance but I think he's one of the Gunners' most overrated players.

I think Tonali can do much better there than he would at City or Tottenham.

Will be gutted to see him go - loved watching him play.  But he's not been 'present' for a while yet so clearly his head is elsewhere.  Very disappointing after we stuck by him through a lengthy ban.

I've really tried to love Sandro during his time here but something hasn't quite got to me to that point. There's times I've watched him and thought he could play for any top team in the world then other times when he's constantly giving the ball away and having zero effect, I've swung the other way. Maybe it was also the ban, maybe missing the mackem home game then playing for Italy a few days later. I don't know really, maybe it's combination of all of these things but it's never reached that point where I love him and I'd be devastated if he left.

I wouldn't argue if people felt otherwise though, clearly he's a good player and all the points where people are gutted are valid, it just doesn't feel like that for me. Of course, easy to say now and seeing him in another teams shirt at St James might change that but when we inevitably see rat fuckface up here for Liverpool, that will hurt much more, to me anyway.

What we do with the transfer money, and aware this is captain obvious, will determine maybe how much we miss him if we end up with an average underwhelming shite replacement but hopefully that won't be the case. At this moment, £100m is a lot to turn down from anyone and I would absolutely take it.

I can see Kees Smit being a good replacement for Tonali

Whilst Hackney or Camara could replace Willock

Bruno Joe Miley Ramsay Camara Smit

Not bad. Not quite Tonali Bruno Joe but better squad

Trafford being part of a deal with Citeh would be welcome.

We'll probably sell Tonali to City for 70m and get Trafford for 50m.

Agree. if we wer able to compete on a level playing field with the head-start cartel clubs we'd arguably have Anderson, Bruno, Tonali as our midfield 3 - a some 300m engine room signed for what, 80-90m? we'd have Minteh as our RW we signed for peanuts, we'd have Isak here on a fresh fat contract as the highest paid player we've ever had...our scouting would have looked next level.

And this all not counting the players we prob could have signed without the restrictions. Hell Joao Pedro was likely going to be signed in addition to Isak if we could afford it, ffs.

If we had been allowed to spend without limits I doubt Anderson would be anywhere near our first team

We absolutely NEED to have signed his replacement before we let this cunt leave btw.

I have zero trust that this lot can either;

a) Get the replacement signed without them going elsewhere.
b) Not get ripped off when selling clubs know we’ve got £90m burning a hole à la Wissa.

Connor Gallagher for £70m in the closing hours of the summer transfer window :fwap:
