Whilst it was disjointed and frantic second half. We were the better side and managed to slow things down a bit and keep recycling the ball. I’m sure Howe would have had a word. As we approached it differently from the whistle in that second half. But he meant we won the midfield battle.

It seemed second half they were more interested in booting us and as a result the game naturally slowed down too. Probably becaus they knew they'd tire, etc. But aye, I agree. Sandro gave us that dynamism and control for sure.

He was worth the wait though - just a quality player who seems to be getting better each time I see him play.
Ikon
Not first priority but I would love to see us add a very good LCM to play with Sandro and Bruno. One that is very good on the ball and in general play. Didn’t score many points but that Dembele who used to play for Tottenham would have been the profile I’d be looking at. The Belgian player. Or similar attributes. Miley is a great talent but not property ready quite yet

We're one player away from having a truly unbelievable midfield; it's very tempting to invest there again to make it happen. Mind you it makes the Anderson thing all the more frustrating. He'd be the one in there right now imo.

But I agree, it needs to be a priority to have a real 4th choice in that area in the same class as Bruno, Tonali and Jo.

Pablo
Agree, we should pull out the stops to get another elite midfielder for lcm. In any other era we are on the brink of something special. The fact we can’t buy players to compliment the quality we have is so frustrating. We have 4 players who Grace any team in England, complimented by a handful of quality players and then some great grafters to support them. 3 additions to the first 11, with no injuries and we can go toe to toe with anyone in a one off game. Sadly we need another 10 players to challenge on all fronts. if we can keep the core, and mother age doesn’t beat us down, we have the potential to be the best team in England. Sadly, I just don’t see it happening as I dream, and we remain stuck in no man’s land bobbing between mid table and top 5. If I were a quality young player with time for a career to develop, we are the best destination is England. I’m just less sure a player at their peak pick us, until the financial handcuffs are off. Its both the most exciting and the most annoying time to be invested in this team.

I know that isn't particularly old but in the world we live now, we ain't paying 50m for someone who has no sell on value. He'd absolutely class though. Personally, I think we will be looking in the 22/23 bracket, with someone who we believe can be the next Barella. Adam Wharton is 21, he's perfect, if it wasn't for the fact Crystal Palace will want 150m or some shit.
Heron
I don't think it'd be spending within our FFP constraints wisely that's the thing. I think we have bigger fish to fry. Get the point being mage though.
Danh1
Having this man, Gordon (against Trent) and Isak is what gives me some hope for the final against the Micky mousers.

Keegans Export
I just don't think we can shop in that £50m+ bracket. Or at least we can't do that and fill all the gaps in the squad.

Tiresias
If we have to sell to buy more we need more saleable assets not just 'purples'. We do need to flesh out the squad with promising young players whom either grow into regular first teamers or get sold for solid profit after a couple of seasons. At present almost all the players with value are ones we still can't afford to lose. We are also in the position that if one gets sold the money will go on replacement, whom will tend to take 6 months to adapt to howeball. We need to start bringing in replacements before the sale and that means cheaper bargains not expensive already established players. Such is psr. alexf
Seemed like the only one who could put in a tackle and win possession when he came on. Put the others to shame. It's crazy to think how strong and important he feels now. You watching him last night compared to Longstaff and remember it was only a few months ago you had plenty on here arguing that Longstaff should be playing ahead of him. I get that it wasn't this version of Sandro we were seeing but imagine saying that now. He's integral to our spine now along with Isak.
