NUFC Transfer Rumours

It's not completely incorrect.

AC Milan's top players aren't on massive salaries.

Tolani got a wage hike joining us and Hernandez is on around £85,000 a week, which we could increase a fair bit if we make him one of the top earners , which he would be.

Yeah but it's still not very high salary. More that Milan aren't paying big salaries and we could offer a bit more but he would still be getting £300k or more from Man United or Chelsea for example which is in a very high salary range.

Yep. Doesn’t solve the back up quality at RB (Krafth, Manquillo, Ashby) and RCB (Lascelles). I can’t ever remember a team playing with two left footed CBs in a 2.

Could this be because there are fewer left sided players, indeed people, in general though?

Him and ASM aye.

Is it not just folks looking at what saleable assets we have that just sit on the bench?

Targett and ASM combined you would hope would fetch around £50m like

And if we can't sell them, they'll be important first team contenders for the CL campaign. Hardly a disaster if we don't get replacements considering they are proven players at this level.

They don’t just sit on the bench though do they. This is a squad game now and even more so next season when we’re in the CL too. We’re gonna need those squad players.

Target and ASM have been bench warmers most of the time though haven’t they. Where this is true, if you are needing to shift players for numbers and upgrades (you can only have so many players in your squad) you look at what you can sell that aren’t in your starting 11 first and see what you can get in. If this then helps us bring in more quality for the first 11, then you are building a stronger squad.

Yep. Obviously we aren't going to be selling players for the sake of it, we would only sell if we had identified someone who is an upgrade.

Updates on us at about 6.30 minutes.

Getting closer to agreeing a fee for Barnes, no actual bid more just constant dialogue between the clubs. We hope to have a fee agree or at least be near enough there by the end of the week.

We have something lined up for ASM to leave.

So nothing hugely new.

Can only see it being Saudi for ASM, can’t see a European club paying much.

What do we reckon for Maxi if he does go? Just under £50M ala Neves?

£40m - £50m  in todays inflated market

They will be buying a player from a CL club - so if they want him, they entice us with a slightly inflated price

They have both been injured quite a bit and Howe tends to ease players back into the starting eleven. I would be surprised if Targett doesn't end up with a lot more starts and minutes next year.  If Barnes signs, I could see ASM being sold. I don't think we sell Matt.

I can only see either Saudi or a PL club paying that much for anyone, let alone a sicknote. If he goes it'll be to Europe and therefore for something less than what we pay for Barnes, imo.

I'll be forever grateful to Maxi for digging us out of the dirt during the Bruce years. Whether it's injuries or the high pressing nature of our game he just can't seem to put it together under Howe.

Two years left on his deal, so if we don't see him on our long term plan, now is the time to sell. It feels like a lot of the recent noises in the press have been pointing towards this.

What I’m expecting and hoping, is that Ashworth is negotiating & lining up both deals right now. Need to seal the Barnes deal first, and then LCFC will feel they could have squeezed more out of us, once we announce a £40m/£50m ASM to Saudi deal.

Then we go and get Chiesa on a loan-to-buy, Kulusevksi style?
