WilliamPS
Be bizarre to sell Gordon now the FFP pressure is off. Young, on a long contract, value will increase and most importantly delivers on the pitch and set to improve on the pitch. Honestly can’t see the football side of the management or the Saudi overlords thinking this is a good idea, be staggered if it happened. Liverpool are just having a bit of fun at Newcastle’s expense

I think we're going to hang on to him this summer (unless a stupid offer comes in), but you could say we're taking quite a risk. Imagine he gets a bad injury this year and spends most of it on the sidelines. We'd be going into next summer transfer window with a depreciated asset on his last year of contract, unless he was willing to commit to us long term before then. Realistically if an offer we can't refuse does come in we are going to have to consider if we are willing to take such a risk, or go for certainty and take one step back to take two steps forward. He’s a Liverpool fan and only has two years left on his contract. Hopefully his head hasn’t been turned though and he’s over it! I’d hate him to go to but especially to those wankers! Unfortunately this is true. Not sure we'll be able to offer him the same contract Liverpool will either, but we can still make him wait until the next window if he really has his heart set on Liverpool. Joelinton7
It’s all been very easy for the press to speculate about this because we haven’t heard from him in months. He’s due back from holiday soon at which point we’ll get to hear what he actually thinks. Liverpool journos are desperate for this to happen but so much of it doesn’t make sense. He’s full of ambition, that’s about it. Pretty sure we’ll be trying to qualify for the CL and to win a cup this season. He’s never said anything other than he absolutely loves the city and the club. If he was to go then we get a massive amount of money for him and the club will use 100% of it to make sure we end up in a better position.

GeordieDazzler
It’s worth noting that the Anfield press pack / LFC content pages are similarly starved of content. They are just attempting to fill the vacuum with the only crum of something they have.

Let's not forget Eddie Howe signed a new contract last summer and the first we heard of it was Darren Eales mentioning it last month. I'm not saying that's what's happened here but there will inevitably be discrepancies between reported contract length/terms and the actual contract length/terms. Fingers crossed Gordon is one of those.
