Two games, four points. One game with 10 men for most of it. Fucks sake. Its this kind of shit that got Bobby sacked and we ended up with that cunt souness.

Which then turned into the sale to Ashley. We should def keep it up, make this a royal PITA to PIF and help them decide it not worth the hassle.

So much of our support these days reminds me of people who ask to speak to the manager. More interested in approaching everything as a consumer rather than a supporter.

Absolutely. Losing our best next summer seems probable if we don't strengthen enough to achieve 4-5th. There's huge long-term implications. 6-8th could end up being our long term ceiling. Like it or not, we're not currently on an upward trajectory - be it squad, training ground or stadium.

Eddie Howe - who has basically lived NUFC for nearly 3 seasons; part coach, part DOF at first…. saved us from relegation, signed some proper hard working pros and world class talents, got us 4th and CL, a Cup final and a decent attack at the domestic cups last season too; with an injury crisis never seen before around our parts somehow still guided us to 7th and if not for City losing to Man United in the FA Cup Final would have gotten us another season of European footbal. Do people immediately want to throw knives at him for “shit” performances, 4 points from a possible 6? If not that, it’s also this weird obsession over his transfer strategy or his team selection. Has he not shown every single person here time and time again that he’s better at this football thing than we are? Fuck sake. Some of you do really deserve MA again.

I'm assuming the general idea around it is for FFP purposes, with loan fees possibly being seen as a sunk cost by the club as there's no way of recouping anything from player sale.

I don't disagree with that general idea, but we have to be a bit more flexible as being fleeced for a ridiculous transfers fee for Guehi isn't smart business with Lascelles and Botman coming back half way through the season.

Not everything has to be a profit. We could have signed Joachim Anderson for 30m 4 year deal and sold him for 25m next summer and broke even.

A clever deal where we temporarily improve the squad could be the difference of 10s of millions in prize money.

People really forget what the fuck we were falling into before Mandy refused to take no for an answer, Eddie spending 20 hours a day trying to make NUFC relevant and our owners trying their absolute best to sign as many players as possible to progress us on the field. It’s Iike people think we have executives at the club just sitting around scrolling the internet and not trying to make this club better every single day.

Because we’ve found it really easy to sell players for large sums recently?

absolutely no gurantee of that, especially as we'd be paying him much more than palace were.

just too oversimplistic.

The players Ashley bought and a 33 year old Trippier.

We would have to buy solid level European players and make. Unless Anderson gets injured or has a horrific season he maintains value and would fill a need in the team.

It's inevitable that one of the stars will go, Gordon / Bruno or Isak (probably say Gordon most likely of the three IMO unless a deal is signed), which is fine, it's the replacing / evolution of the side post them that's the issue. This summer was suppose to be one, and it's been nothing but an evolution both in terms of personal and play wise. So I've got little hope atm that next season with the set up that's in place right now, we would get that correct. Need some positivity and glimpses that we are going right way with the squad to close gap on the top sides.

Thats why the upcoming season is imortant. Its not only Isak who wants out if we dont make Europe.

Love Eddie as a manager, but throwing a hissy fit once Mitchell was brought in was not what was best for the club. It's clear Eddie is still dictating transfer policy, and it's at least part the reason why we've had such a bizarre window.

My patience, and others', with Eddie will be running thin if he the window closes as is and we didn't bring anyone in because they don't meet Eddie's laundry list of requirements to join the squad. Mitchell, a world class DoF, needs to be calling the shots with absolute authority if we want to make it to the next level - not Eddie, whose strengths are managerial.

We're in full agreement.  Just trying to think of the reasons the club/Eddie have specifically mentioned before that we aren't interest in loan deals (was probably a year or 2 ago in a press conference).

Man ...

I'm just waiting till the window closes.

Then you might need to make some room for me.

I'm placing a lot of faith in this week.

We are two matches into a long league campaign and have 2 domestic cups as well on top of that. Wild to think people are already this fed up.

There's generally less 'buy in' from players who aren't permanently attached to the club, without there being an obligation to buy at the end. Something along those lines.

You’ve driven yourself round the bend based on pure speculation.

They're largely talking about the window, which has been open for, what, about 3 months now?

I know and that’s fair, but just feel like it’s really hard for me to understand how that has essentially ruined the opening weeks of football for some (and made this place miserable).

TBF we're going into this season with (as it stands right now) the exact same team as last season as no real improvements to the XI have been made whilst the majority of clubs you expect to be around us have all improved. And we've been largely crap away from home for 12 months and were once again yesterday.

People being OTT are exactly that and can be ignored (though I can't see too many posters being as such) but its totally understandable why people feel flat and that its gone stale a bit. Because not going to lie atm, I do.
