NUFC Transfer Rumours

This window has to be a embarrasing failure for the mighty saudis?

Seems like a setback for their plan. With our fifth choice Krafth starting premier league games 2 games into the season its hard to see great progress this year.

Hopefully fewer games and a potentially very good squad without injuries can prove this transfergamble wrong. Atleast beat spurs for starters!

If we hadn’t sold Anderson and Minteh and the rest of the window was exactly as it has been, I’d still have said it’s poor but would have had hope that Minteh is a potential new signing in a problem position, and Anderson is a utility player so can cover LW, RW, CM etc where required.

without those two it’s genuinely been a disaster

Kelly is literally the only new signing we can use.

Osula might be too raw and get the Hall treatment most of the season.

Sad thing is that essentially the Anderson and Minteh stuff is almost like a previous transfer window. They bear no significance to this one, because they were sold to solve a PSR Issue for last year, not this one. Such are the stupid fucking rules we have to play by.

I agree, that's why I'm so pleased that we signed the injury-prone backup something or other Lloyd Kelly for £150,000 a week.

Signing a centre-back on a free-transfer whilst we had two-centre backs out injured for several months ahead getting thrown under the bus now too is it.

Should be bringing in loans for the three positions either loan to buy or just the bog standard loan.

I feel the fans would understand if that's what we did with us not getting our main targets.

Are we allowed 3 loans ?

Who are we going to loan? As soon as we're involved, there'll be outrageous loan fees no doubt.

People can blame whoever they want but the root cause of this is PSR or FFP or whatever it’s called. The rules that were forced through to stunt our growth are working perfectly but we will overcome these, it will just take longer than first thought. It will make it all the sweeter when we succeed despite everything they’ve tried to stop us.

Only way to overcome them is to build a massive fucking stadium and spend 10 years buying the top teenage talent around the world and selling them for massive profits.

All this has done is to heap more pressure and scrutiny on Howe and the players. The failure to strengthen looks to have been of our own volition, we made the Guehi bids so the money was there but we elected to not spend it. It's a conscious decision, not limited by PSR, this is our decision to not invest when we could have. And now the teams we're trying to overhaul have strengthened and the pack has moved on while we've chosen to stand still. It's now Howe who needs to pull a rabbit out of the bag and catch the teams we were already behind despite them improving. Pressure is well and truly on and it's hard to say it's not self inflicted

Disappointed with the window but still optimistic of the trajectory.

Hoping that lessons will be learnt from this fiasco.

Don't buy into this Howes being stubborness with only wanting players with Premier League experience... considering his first transfer window we were all over Hugo Etikeke, signed Bruno G and desperate for Diego Carlos and Sven Botman.

Not to mention Tonali and Isak.

Just lazy, and can only think people bring it up because they want to scapegoat someone.

How can it be the root cause if we were willing to spunk 65m on Guehi

If we learn our lessons from the window, could be a blessing.

The message is out now that we aren't going to just sign anyone.  We are not going to pay above and beyond what a player is worth.

Can view this window as consolidation.  And be more astute in next couple of windows.

That message is not that strong when we went above and beyond in making offers for Guehi that no other club would have come close to matching. Equally, we got rinsed in our Minteh and Anderson dealings. We don’t look like strong negotiators in all honesty from the outside looking in but who knows
