NUFC Transfer Rumours

This osula isn't good enough spiel is bollocks by the way.

He's a big lad that has the physicality already, is rapid but doesn't get a chance under howe.

We used to hoy wood up top regularly whatever the the circumstances where and he didn't offer much, so why not give the lad a chance of creating or scoring a goal when we are trailing is beyond me.

He seems he'd rather put on Murphy and Longstaff instead of a forward when needing a goal.

2 minutes when we are chasing the game is absolutely pathetic, like.

Osula would have been great two seasons ago when we were smashing sides and had games won after 70 minutes. Bringing a young lad into this mess and expecting him to be the one to turn things around isn't going to happen.

Another case of right player at the wrong time for me.

I feel bad for the lad, came here to be third choice but obviously isn't trusted to perform that role so his ass will be well and truly wedded to the bench.

Things obviously can change but as of now why we have any consideration for Wilson is absolutely beyond me, he's probably the most unreliable player in the league and placing any importance on his presence is obviously a stupid mistake. We didn't need a third choice striker at all we need an option who can stay fit and rotate with isak and provide us with other options up front.

Nowt we can do if can't sell the fringe players like Wilson though, Osula was probably one of the better options we had available to us (Delap would never have come here as 3rd choice)

Exactly so the mistake is a compound one, Wilson should have been moved on after the good season he had when he was worth something. Now he will end up leaving for nothing.

And their was nothing stopping us replacing Wilson and letting Wilson become the third choice, we need to promote competition nobodies place in the team should be sacred, this is how you become complacent.

it's been said repeatedly we have to learn to become good sellers but as of now we still haven't learnt that simple lesson. Let's hope Paul Mitchell understands these concepts.

£10m rising to £15m isn't that low tbh. For that you should expect him to come on for 20 mins and provide some nuisance value at least.

Just for comparison, Morgan Rodgers cost Villa £8m rising up to £15m.

Yep, which is why I think we'll lose one or two in the summer. One big sale can be massive for a couple of windows, we need to get our heads around this. No doubt the rules will be amended again before the summer window though.

"I want us to sign young players who we can develop, so we can spread our cost and aid PSR."

"Bah none of these players are ready for the first team, what a silly thing to do, now we have gaps in our first team."

We are probably a year too late on selling someone if I'm honest. Once squad cost comes in we are going to be up shits creek.

It's alright though we keep handing out new contracts giving massive pay increases.

Despite really clear examples of young players being held back by our management, only to perform when they’re eventually trusted and we are still using this as a stick to beat Howe with.

Obviously recruitment is a related issue, but surely we can see that Howe’s approach to player development works

Which is why I suggested Barnes will now be a depreciating asset. None of these are bad players, but unless we stick two fingers up to PSR and just sign players hoping it will all sort itself out, there's no way round it. We'll end up with an ever decreasing pot of transfer money to build a squad with.

Would be transformational

If we'd bought him when Brentford did. These links are so shit man, we clearly aren't going to continue buying players once their price has been inflated by proving themselves in the Premier. It would be a nice idea if we had an unlimited pot of money, but we don't.

In isolation, Mbeumo = yes please. The problem is that if a "big money signing" means we're going to have to shift someone before 30th June again we're leaving ourselves open to having the piss taken out of us.

I've made peace with the fact that at least one of the big guns is going to have to be moved on so we can refresh the squad ahead of 2025/26, but I at least want to be able to sell on our terms, rather than accepting a miserly bid ahead of an artificial (PSR) deadline.

This is where a Sporting Director needs to take the lead a bit. Of course Howe is going to want tried and tested, proven players because his job is on the line. I imagine the mindset is "Let's finish as high as we can this season and we'll work out what to do in the summer if/when we get there", basically exactly what happened leading up to 30th June this year.
