KaKa Posted Thursday at 16:15 Share Posted Thursday at 16:15 https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2024/11/newcastle-transfer-news-magpies-and-west-ham-open-to-kolo-muani-transfer The Kolo-Muani link won't go away the past few months. Thought his season at Eintracht Frankfurt was incredible, when he finished with 25 goals and 17 assists across all comps. I really like his profile for an Eddie Howe side. Loan with an option to buy is very intriguing, and worth exploring IMO, and would be a great Jan option that won't be a financial burden. If he does well looks like the fee will be around £40 million too. Would 100% go for this as another striker that can also play out wide. Gives us quality cover upfront and a lot of flexibility in the wide positions.
GeordieDazzler Posted Thursday at 16:42 Share Posted Thursday at 16:42 Didn’t they pay like 90m for him?

They don't plan properly then end up with a bunch of players that no longer fit after they've changed direction. They're now hardly using him because Enrique is now using Asensio as a false 9 because he's gone to that sort of system. They know they won't get anywhere near what they paid, which was a silly fee in the first place, and so they're making him available for a reasonable and realistic price since money doesn't even matter to them really. PSG might be happy to let him go, but I fear the drop from £90m to £40m might be a tad optimistic.

Whitley mag Posted Thursday at 17:48 Share Posted Thursday at 17:48 Gyokeres would surely jump at the chance to play with Isak next summer. Bring in a top centre back, find our Odegaard type player and we’d be fighting for the title.

JEToon Posted Thursday at 17:56 Share Posted Thursday at 17:56 Probably a controversial view but I wouldn’t be at all fussed for us spending the likely fee Gyokeres ends up going for, one worth avoiding for me, it feels like he might flop somewhere else, it is going to end up being a very costly gamble, we can spend our money wiser I think. Rafalove Posted Thursday at 19:23 Share Posted Thursday at 19:23 I don’t think we need another striker. We have Wilson and Osula as backup. If we sell Wilson, then maybe we can bring in a striker but even then I’d prefer another young understudy type, as Osula seems to have a lot of potential and is seemingly highly rated within the club. Rafalove Posted Thursday at 19:27 Share Posted Thursday at 19:27 Then we need to move him on. In which case bring in a young understudy type.

Wilson has been excellent this season TBF. No need. Though Osula hopefully gets up to speed and builds Eddie's trust as I've liked what I've seen from him. rebelrouser Posted Thursday at 20:17 Share Posted Thursday at 20:17 We need a RW and then CB before another strike especially w/ financial concerns.
Sibierski Posted Thursday at 21:12 Share Posted Thursday at 21:12 (edited) Striker you expect us to be creative with if funds are limited. Someone on a free who’s experienced (DCL…), or someone who’s raw but talented from abroad. As Isak is number 1 guy, so why spend £40m+ on someone who’s back up to that when we have other pressing areas to address of genuine starting quality to up the bar. Then if they can play outwide, I’d rather it be a specialist outwide, who could fill in up top in exceptional circumstances, instead of other way round, if it needs to be someone to cover two position. This is why Mbeumo makes great sense. A RW who has played up top for a period of time.

Cronky Posted Friday at 07:33 Share Posted Friday at 07:33 Kolo Muani sounds like the ideal signing to me. Covers two positions, and particularly the right wing, where we need strengthening. He's definitely a significant upgrade on what we have. Eddie doesn't like loan signings, unless there's an option to buy. Whether the player would go for that, of course, is another issue. SUPERTOON Posted Friday at 07:45 Share Posted Friday at 07:45 Cherki and David mentioned in here:
Ikon Posted Friday at 07:49 Share Posted Friday at 07:49 (edited) Not sure Howe would like Cherki. Personally I would absolutely love it. Ridiculously talented and enjoyable to watch. Has end product too and is so creative. Would free up space so often for the other players such as Isak to name one. Could also play between Isak and say Tonali and Bruno and offer something we currently don’t have. I don’t think every player has to be extremely strong defensively.
