Would pay what Liverpool want for Kelleher, got the Georgian lad to come in so pretty sure they'll have to offload him unless Alisson leaves

Only got one year left on his contract come the summer, so they’ll not be able to get big money.

They'll get big money for Alisson from Saudi won't they. You'd think Kelleher would want to be a first teamer somewhere though (and deserves to be). I'd carry him here myself.

Sometimes you need to sell while the stock is high too. We have missed the window on many players to sell while they were in demand in the past. Dyer and Jenas being the obvious ones.

For Wilson and Miggy this was definitely the case. The principle is sound but it’s very close to ‘sell your best players’ so it’s hard to be too critical when we don’t do it.

Indeed. Bruno is probably at peak valuation now. Maybe one more season at a push before his value starts heading downwards.

Would it be wise to sell him? Questionable.

I dont think its that, its more sell players who are performing at a high level that is not sustainable long term e.g Miggy.

I think you can put Joelinton in there to some degree, his stock was extremely high, got a Brazil call up and national media talked about his redepmtion arc. I'm not sure Gordon is a 10 goal 10 assist man long term.

I think both of those are good players for the record, but I think we could have got inflated fees. Very much like what Villa did with Doug Luiz off the back of a great season.

Not sure the Luiz sale has helped Villa mind, although it has for PSR of course.

I think the problem is that players can't just be sold, they need to be replaced. So I can see a situation where you sell someone who would have had a good few years with you and need to spend again to replace them. In the meantime you finish the same position in the league anyway.

No easy solutions but I get the point that, ideally, we would be able to identify players who are over performing or aren't essential to our plan or can be replaced more easily.

Sadly none of our players are over performing at the moment, so its hard to say anyone who we could sell. Possibly Barnes, but I think this is just the player he is.

You’d imagine Alisson will be off somewhere for a big payday. Had his injury troubles, too. So Liverpool might be keen to move him on because of that.

Kelleher is clearly too good to continue as a number 2. But they just spent £30m or whatever it was on Marmaduke. So I’m assuming the plan is for him to be the starter.

If Kelleher does leave as he wants to be number 1 somewhere. I think he’d cost a lot. What do people think in today’s market and due to his worth to Liverpool. £20-30m? More?! I think he’d have a few suitors. He looks absolutely quality.

I don't think Kelleher is good enough. Liverpool fans didn't rate him much before this short spell.

They’re rating him against Allison though, and he’s clearly not that level.

For the price point Kelleher will be sold at, he’s very good for a long term goalkeeper. Trafford / Ramsdale figures and I’d have neither close to Kelleher.

Is that right?  I know plenty of Liverpool fans (who doesn't) and they've always said he's done really well when called upon.

There was one spell where he had a couple of howlers close together that may have skewed opinion, from memory.  But all keepers make howlers.  Alisson is the best around, I think and even he has made some ricks the last couple of years.

Ultimately this is what staff at the club responsible for squad building will be held accountable for though, whether that's Staveley, Howe or Mitchell.

I’d have him over Raya and Sanchez and Onana 100 percent. He’s also 26 so he’s not close to peaking

He's played 21 career league games. I dont think we can fully judge him.

Apart from Brighton and Benfica capitalizing on Chelsea dropping insane fees for players, clubs don’t generally just flip their best player these days if they have aspirations to move up the table and keep building. Sure Liverpool did it yonks ago but they sold those players at insane prices when those respective buyers were dropping silly fees. Again, those buyers are anomalies and not normal each window. It’s far different now the PSR world.

and I’m speaking about this from the POV from my career (applying my M&A exp) as well so those of you who do know me in real life should at least understand where I’m coming from in this analysis.

Then we must also stop partaking in £50m+ signings and £100k+ wages.
