MagMal Posted Saturday at 10:42 Share Posted Saturday at 10:42 I think the only way we get Dibing is if we over pay and loan him back for the rest of the season, everything points towards Southampton going down but if they cash in on him it all but confirms the club think they are going down and that will upset the fans and impact the rest of the players. Here’s an idea: why don’t you show some faith and patience in this ownership, who have been on the mark in pretty much every aspect of the running of this club? Except I wasn’t referring to the year you’re referring to - I said after this year. This year includes the new adidas deal.

Even then, we went from 21m in 2021 (the year they took over) to 46m in 2023… edit: so you meant to say we won’t grow 30% over 2025, but actually said we hadn’t doubled or commercial revenue (which we have) and would flatline “this year” (which we haven’t). Very clear indeed. Edited Saturday at 12:18 by Unbelievable

The club themselves have spoken about being on track for £300m+ in the latest accounts. This accounts for CL football and the adidas deal for the first time. This isn’t unexpected performance. Which is still in line with needing to sell before investing in the squad. The needle hasn’t been moved. The numbers they are talking about are the same period we needed to sell Minteh and Anderson to balance the books.

I don’t see how you can reconcile this position with your claim that you are not impatient in light of a 42% increase year on year of commercial revenue. What do you expect them to do, taking into account the FMV rules? i would say they are doing absolutely brilliantly beating their own ambitious target, and I havr every faith that they will continue to lead us in the right direction. Enjoy the journey, it may be better than any destination we may or may not reach.

With smart management and recruitment we can fight above our station and if not - 7th is often European football and decent cup runs. Better than most years at the club. If we aim to be number 1 - we need more creativity and aggression in revenue.

Agree but I also agree with LFEE that he's unfortunately slipped out of the age/wage/price bracket for us in last 18 months. Think he'd also fancy his chances at a Liverpool move if Salah goes. buzza Posted Saturday at 18:27 Share Posted Saturday at 18:27 If murphy continues to perform for another month or two, i think i would rather go for Dibling at half the price and wages. Bring him in bit by bit and improve hiim as we go. i think he will turn into a game changing player, and with eddie maximising his attributes we coulod have the potential for another world class player... kingxlnc Posted Saturday at 18:32 Share Posted Saturday at 18:32 Honestly get both Mbuemo and Dibling fluid front three get the SS role sorted at the same time Gordon Isak Mbuemo Barnes Mbuemo Dibling Isak Mbuemo Dibling etc
Mazzy Posted Saturday at 18:37 Share Posted Saturday at 18:37 Some fans falling into the trap once again of thinking Murphy can keep this up till the end of the season, he can't. He's not actually playing well, and I hate saying this but he's "just" scoring goals and getting assists. He was OK today just like he was against Man Utd. Our chances of finishing top 5 increase drastically if Murphy is replaced in the next couple of weeks. Even more so if it's Mbeumo or Semenyo that replaces him. Unfortunately for us though, Bournemouth are doing very well and even Brentford have been competing in the top half, so neither will be easy to sign or desperate to leave this month. I think Mbuemo knows he’s ready for the next level now Bournemouth have a very good team and Semenyo is a big part of it. Can see him sticking around for a bit Mbuemo would be a guaranteed hit. Worth the Guehi money. No nonsense just get the finished product. Would be buying him at peak value though which Mitchell doesn’t really do
Sibierski Posted Saturday at 18:44 Share Posted Saturday at 18:44 Arsenal should be signing Mbeumo. Can integrate him straight into side at RW, then move him centrally when Saka is back.
Holloway Posted Saturday at 20:37 Share Posted Saturday at 20:37 I'd agree about murphy generally, things tend to break down around him half of the time. But the other half is reaping rewards, lovely cross for the goal and one a bit earlier that was screaming to be finished. Plus he sticks to his defensive duties very well, you can't drop him never mind sell him
Nucasol Posted Saturday at 20:42 Share Posted Saturday at 20:42 - Newcastle United will look to Internazionalemidfielder Davide Frattesi to replace Bruno Guimarães if the 27-year-old leaves in 2025, reports TEAMtalk, with Manchester City being the favourites to sign the Brazil international. Frattesi's transfer is valued at around €50m and there will be competition from Manchester United, Tottenham and Roma for the 25-year-old.
WilliamPS Posted Saturday at 20:49 Share Posted Saturday at 20:49 Murphy is having his Miggy in 22/23 season. The team is playing well, the fullback behind is in form and the striker is scoring for fun, and he’s taking full advantage - good for him - but he can’t produce something on his own the way Gordon can, he’s just not at that level. For Mbuemo agree the moment has probably gone, it would have had to be 2 years ago. I reckon the player would come but the fee will be too high. While his stats are great, the football does get patchy on his flank because his touch and close control are inconsistent. While he's pulling out goals and assists it doesn't really matter, but it would be hard to reproduce that for another half a season. But at least it won't be a disaster if we don't sign a right winger this month.
