NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Point being Caulking loves to trot out the clubs lines on why something did or didn't happen it just lacks credibility in this situation as the comments citied by Yorkie are laughable.

And I see the point about competition but cmon folks in 2025 people aren't choosing us over City. City wanted the lad and bought the lad end of story. It might work out it might not.

Caulkin hasn’t done that so much since the ownership changes tbf.

Don't see what's so unusual about it. We were gonna sign someone and City acted quickly so we couldn't. I didn't say it was out of spite, they presumably identified him as a target too, but there was nothing to suggest they intended to get him in January. He was linked to us and then suddenly he was in a City shirt.

They get no stories without trotting the club line, you know this. You've read the weekly psr cry article from them.

@Yorkiei got you, thanks for clarifying. My point is more along the lines of most clubs in Europe of our stature and greater are looking at the same pools of players so it becomes a pecking order which we aren't at the top of.

Was kinda like when we were linked with getting Ragnick as DOF then Man Utd swept in and offered him the manager job to prevent it

Or even before the first bid got knocked back and Amanda told him it was a sure deal before the Saudis pulled out.

The no red flags stage of the takeover.

Looking forward to Eddie dropping hints at the beginning of May that we might not be able to do any business in the summer.

He’s already dropped them a couple of weeks ago [emoji38]

Dibling will be too expensive imo.

Tend to agree. Think we will have a big/productive Summer, however I get the feeling the players we sign will only be known to the very hippest of hipsters. And none will be over 35m tops.

It's where Paul Mitchell will get judged. He has a good track record of this and with our extended scouting programs. I hope we are able to find similar players to Dibling abroad for much less than the English premium.

Am I right in thinking wages are a bigger issue to us more so than cost of a player?

Aye, especially if we qualify for Europe. New UEFA rules say something along the lines of your squad costs (wages effectively) have to be less that 70% of your overall turnover. Last financials the other week had ours currently at 68%. Obviously Miggy has gone, and by next season likely Wilson, Trippier, Lasecelles and Targett. Plus our revenue should be higher, but we still will need to be careful.
