We should get ahead of things and start selling them all off now.

That way at least we won't have anything to worry about.

Aye, just write this season off

Gençlerbirligi General Manager Ali Ekber Düzgün has released a statement to reveal Baran Yıldız is on the verge of signing for Newcastle United.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to the Magpies in recent days following reports they’d reached an agreement for his arrival.

Hurriyet have covered comments Düzgün has made to the Turkish media when discussing the youngster’s situation with Newcastle United.

Düzgün said Yıldız is close to a transfer to St James’ Park and if there are no complications he will be signing a contract with the Premier League side.

“In the case of Baran’s transfer, the work is down to the official signature. It has not yet been officially concluded. But as long as there are no surprises, our young football player is on his way to England,” said Düzgün.

Given it will be difficult for Newcastle United to get a work permit for Yıldız, perhaps he will be loaned back to Gençlerbirligi

Signing some kid who plays for the u19’s of a team I’ve never heard of and couldn’t play for us as he can’t get a work permit

Inject that PSR 4D Chess right into my veins

The way I see it is that the owners have pushed us to the edge of PSR and now we are seeing the consequences.  Multiple windows of no first team additions and big sales required before we can go again.  Least we’re not doing a Leeds

People demanding communication from the club when they clearly haven’t paid any attention to any of the previous stuff the club has said [emoji38]

I get why there’s frustration, but step away from the ledge lads. All this gnashing of teeth because we’re not replacing two fringe players - one of whom plays in a position we’re stacked in.

From pretty much day one the club have said that there’d be a moment of reckoning when PSR became a legit concern we’d have to navigate around. We frontloaded our investment to get out of relegation trouble and into the CL, and now we’re in a sticky patch where we need to muddle through a few windows and get that spend off the books.

The fact we haven’t had to sell a purple and haven’t incurred a points deduction is a testament to those in charge IMO.

Mate…

On his YouTube last night craig no hope also said no one coming and no one leaving so let's hope he's speculating or reporting on what howe said to the press post Fulham.

I hope we try for someone despite selling players getting few minutes we are going to the business end of the season and we and I feel the squad need that new player boost.

Let's hope one of the players ear marked for the summer can be brought forward if there is now financial wiggle room.

I suppose the last thing the club are going to do is tell him it’ll allow us to sign someone in case they can’t get it done and he’s already broadcast it.

True Howe went from hinting sell to buy to sell to comply so it's not looking good wrong window, wrong players they want available, wrong budget etc all valid excuses just got to hope getting 25m-ish in is more than forecast and changes things albeit with little time left.

Kelly deal is likely structured as a loan-to-buy for PSR reasons at Juve’s end, so we won’t be getting that fee until next PSR cycle. Which is to say we don’t have any more money to spend this window.

James Traffords stats for this season are unreal.

18.1 XG faced.

9 goals conceded.

2/2 penalties saved.

Hopefully we pick him up in the summer.

Yup. It was always looking like this summer will be easier to spend once the 2021-22 finances drop off the calculations, so adding another 20m into next season's headroom should make for quite some leeway in the summer. Arguably better for us to back that later rather than now if we had no plans to buy this window.
