Well one argument for someone like Mbuemo or a “similar” hybrid forward is he can play through the middle as well as RW. 
 

This is where i hope Mitchel comes into his own this summer identifying some really good affordable targets to go with one or two purples.

I think Mbuemo at the prices mentioned is a no brainer. 

 

Hope we have enough funds to get a few starters and to flesh out the squad. We had nothing to change the game yesterday.

 

Hopefully Mitchell can find some Brighton like gems.

A cb, a rb, a goal keeper, a right winger, a midfielder

 

Realistically we're not getting all of that if we splash £60m on Mbeumo

I think they may cash in on Gordon. If we don’t sell him then Willock and Longy will be next in the departure lounge.

£75m. Stock isn’t as high as last summer but we have contract protection, the English premium and he’s still got a decent amount of goals/assists. I can see Arsenal or Chelsea trying their luck for him but Liverpool selling Diaz makes this a done deal.

Maybe I'm on a downer after last night but I can't see anyone being willing/able to give us 75m for him. I guess the first place to look at is those clubs who's primary target is a left winger. 

 

I think both Chelsea and Arsenal they want a CF. For Liverpool they want a right and left back as well as a striker too.

Nah, nobody else was offering such fees for those guys. They played that hype cycle something crazy with Duran. 

 

To add on, very few clubs can afford to pay 50m+ fees, so any player in that bracket better be champions league quality.

Diaby had an ok season and they sold him for a 5m euro profit (55>60m)

 

Sold Duran for 77m euros - way over his market value - for someone who is still largely unproven 

 

I mean the Saudi’s had a 75m euros bid rejected for Mitoma - says it all

Villa got almost exactly what they paid for Diaby twelve months earlier. He just about did enough to retain his value.

 

Duran went to Saudi for circa £64 million, just after West Ham had bid £57 million for him.

 

You could argue they were a little inflated, but they weren't miles off par.

Yeah but see my second point, who else other than Saudi would be paying those fees? I don't see it personally not that it matters as Villa have done nothing wrong and our owners are mugs.

I'm just pointing out the idea that Saudi "bailed Villa out" is nonsense.

 

They bought two good, young players for around market value. They're attempting to enhance the quality of their domestic league.

Also worth remembering Villa are spending a fuck ton on wages, which we’ve refused to do. 
 

Means we can have more resilience, but for Villa it does mean they need to sell players that they consider key to them. Over time to keep replacing them and not the see the bar drop will be hard.
 

Like there’s every chance Watkins will be that this summer.

Diaby going for 60m when we had to sell ASM for peanuts and still got people waffling about the saudis doing us a favour was a kick in the teeth. Saudis prioritize their league ahead of us and that's fine, it'll be even more frustrating if they carry on buying our rivals players for a hefty fee. Whichever way you spin it £130m for Dhuran and Diaby is mental money. So was £40m for Fabinho.
