We’ve got a ton of games coming so he’ll play a lot. He can learn from Isak. He’s got Howe coaching who’s improved so many of our first 11. We’ve also got a ton of English players so he’ll be seen a lot by Tuchel. Man u is a dodgy one for him I think because they need so much investment. He’ll have carry a lot of the burden and I think whatever they achieve next year it won’t be deemed good enough. Agreed US and Villa - only 1 striker to compete with, 60-70 games if we do well in cups, good managers, good atmosphere and support from club and fans Man U and Chelsea - toxic, ruin players, weaker strikers to compete with so probably more playing time, but way more pressure, as these 2 clubs SHOULD be at the top based on their finances, churn of players, management, negative press etc I also think at £30m it's an insane opportunity, like Huijsen was. Even if he does average for a CL club for 2 years, you'd easily make a decent profit on him.
Terrymac1966
I have seen Delap trying to cheat the match officials rather than play a great game. His temperament could upset the dressing room so look elsewhere please Mr Mitchell.
Norseman
Isak doesn't have the fitness of a Salah or Messi for instance, where they can play 90 mins every 3 days no problem. We'll need a second striker next season to come on at 60-70 minutes for Isak and start the odd game. Delap could be ideal for that role imo.
andycap
We could do with a left footed freekick maestro in the team. have any of the linked right wingers got that in the locker?

I can’t recall Wilson getting that many tbh, only the odd ten minutes. Not sure that would have made much difference to Osula. Obviously I’m not sure the exact instructions he is given, but he doesn’t offer much when he has played. Quite clumsy on the ball and does give away possession. I think he goes out on loan next season. 217 minutes in the PL for Wilson compared to 96 for Osula
joeyt
And Osula has played more than 5 mins just 4 times

We are absolute cunts to play against which is one of the reasons we're where we are lets not forget. I dont think many opposition fans have great things to say about gordon, bruno or joelinton hah. Pope is a good goalkeeper, as is Dubs, but they both have flaws and Pope’s only one isn’t his distribution. Hit him low and hard and he’s unlikely to get down in time for instance. Neither is neat world class in the way Tonali and Isak are, or even very good PL players like Bruno, Gordon, etc. I think we can improve in what is a vital position, and if there is an opportunity to do so at a relatively small fee, we definitely should! I disagree. Goalkeeper is a unique position. I think there are maybe 2 GKs in the league that are as good as Pope at everything he’s good at and better at his weaknesses. I think we are likely to get a keeper who is better in some ways but inferior in others. Tonali is better than Longstaff at everything pretty much. Theres not many GKs that are better than Pope at everything. Edited 4 hours ago by The College Dropout

I like Pope, but surely it’s not controversial to suggest we could improve in his position?
Sibierski
I'd love us to pick up a Munoz type this summer. Freedman really done well for Palace. Edited 4 hours ago by Sibierski

Maeda is a pressing machine, I've never seen anyone with a level of fitness like his. Before anyone remarks about how shit the SPFL is, his pressing stats and top speeds in the CL are amongst the best if not, the best. The reason he's at Celtic is cause his technique leaves a lot to be desired, however, his crossing and finishing have gone up a few levels this season. He's easily been the best player in Scotland this year and Celtic would want around 30 million for him so I'd say there's better value elsewhere. Whilst we're on the topic of Celtic, I hope to rumours linking us to Kühn have gone away, he has the heart of a mouse and would get eaten alive in the PL. The SPL is nowhere near as bad as English people think it is. He's scored around 20 and had about half that in assists. 20 million and a decent squad player (maybe Wilson whom would do a better job in the SPL than a lower Epl or Championship side, or Dubravka) and he's a Newcastle player. If PSR was no object, I'd absolutely have Maeda, he's been lethal on the left and filled in up front when Kyogo left, he plays up front for Japan too. However, for 25-30 mil I'd want someone younger with a higher ceiling. Plus Celtic are my 2nd team and I don't want to see them significantly weakened!
