We’re pretty needy for a CM. We can’t do a 4 front European mindbending adventure season with what we’ve got in there now. 4th CM and back up striker really interesting challenges to spend limited funds, both essential in my view. Maybe miley gets some more steroids in the summer

There’s gotta be a few decent options who’d be available on a free. Need a Mo Diame-esque no nonsense signing.

Someone a bit younger than Mbuemo for the RW for me like.

Guler or Kubo

Do you think both of those players would be capable of getting 27 G/A next season for us?

That's the main objective really, age shouldn't matter when you're talking about players between 21-26, which is roughly where the peak for footballers is. Mbeumo being 25 yet proven in this league and far more likely to provide output is a better bet than Kubo who is younger at 23 but has had a poor season this year in La Liga and no real way of knowing how he'd fare in the Premier League.

It really isn't though. G/A aren't the stone cold metric people think they are, as crazy as that sounds.

A simple pass or beating a man and opening up play that leads to those is just as much value as the actual G/A itself and that's much harder to measure.

If G/A can't be used as the prime metric to measure, say for example who's better out of Zidane or Lampard, then they shouldn't be used as the sole metric for assessing any other position aside from maybe strikers who's sole responsibility it is to get them.

Chelsea and Arsenal would buy Gordon given the chance and think the club would be open to trading Barnes if a Villa, West Ham, or Everton offered us our money back on him.

Certainly couldn’t sell both but Barnes would be the one I’d consider trading if the right offer comes in.

We would be asking something like +60 million for Gordon, and no way Arsenal or Chelsea are paying that after last season. Getting our money back on Barnes doesn't help us at all, because we have to replace him and we have quite many that we need before LW.

Gordon most likely has more value and higher ceiling, but Barnes really is a valuable squad player.

We should be all over Delap at £30m like. There will obviously be a lot of clubs in for him but as mentioned earlier we are in a much stronger position now to compete for signatures.

He probably fits Everton best out of the clubs linked but we are obviously a much better team to join.

Anguissa from Napoli? Getting older but…would sell some #99 shirts

EDIT: Wrong thread I guess as it’s not a rumour, just something I came up with

Available on a free too
Would be good backup

Although flopped at Fulham a few years ago

I like the look of Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye - Very fast , Very strong , Skilful and works hard

made a mug of our players time and time again

impressive everytime I’ve watched him

He’s a very good player but mostly plays in the one area of the pitch where we’re stacked

I think he’d go for more than £30m but I don’t know how strong Everton’s financial position is. I know it was in very poor shape at times this season. Anyway, I can’t see us targeting him as I don’t think Howe will want to move on either or both of Gordon or Barnes. Shame Ndiaye doesn’t play on the right

Mbuemo is only 25 (allegedly). Thats not too young surely?

It isn’t! He’d be ideal for us. Hopefully we’ll be quick out of the traps this transfer window. Exciting times.

He’s 26 in August. Still no age. Ship him to Saudi when he’s over the hill on resale value. Eddie will take him up a notch or 2.

Yeah exactly, Mbuemo is mid 20s, proven in the premier league RW and can play as a striker if needed. It’s a total no brainer but then Mitchel might have someone else lined up.

Too old 😂

Has anyone said he's too old? My concern is he's unlikely to improve and he'd cost 60m +. Very good player but this is Isak money we are talking about.

I thought it was closer to 50? I agree 60 is a fair chunk, be interesting to see what they decide on. The fact he can play two positions (covering striker) probably makes it better value for money. I don’t know how much they have to spend though.

You’re getting 2 for 1 positions. He’s premier league proven and Eddie can and has improved players. If there’s anymore in him, Eddie will get it out of him. (Good injury record too).
