NUFC Transfer Rumours

Barcola on the bench.

Yup. Doue starts instead.

Think this is why he'd be considering leaving.

In the big Champions League games this has often been the case.

Ironically, Doue starts "on the right", but is popping up everywhere and causing problems.

Prior to this season people would have said Doue doesn't play on the right though, as he mostly played from the left or behind the striker. But it's not that simple.

That right side has been his official starting position loads of games this season.

I see these PSG wingers/attacking midfielders all the same way. Very versatile and interchangeable along the front line.

If we signed Guehi, Elanga and Trafford this summer it’s clear that would come to around 120 million at least.

Fully on board with spending 30 million on Trafford, think having a top keeper who is comfortable on the ball will make such a difference.

Think the other 2 would improve squad depth and give us pace down the right side, however don’t think they take us to the next level.

It would leave us short of striker and midfield cover as can’t see the budget stretching any further and don’t think it would solve any of the problems we’ve had with breaking down middle of the road teams at home this season.

Guehi and Elanga are safe unimaginative signings that don’t excite me one bit and do nothing but consolidate us as a top 8 team in my opinion.

Guehi walks into our team as a starter. As great as Schar has been, and will hopefully continue to be for as long as he has left, I think people would see Guehi is elite, in the same way we have with Botman, once he was in the team.

You could be right about Elanga mind. Feel it’s hard to judge him, when you only ever see him playing in a team set up the way Forest do.

I want us to sign a RW, GK, RCB, CM and Striker. I don't care who as I trust the team that will bring them in. That's what we need to level up.

Does seem unlikely we will bring in 5 players but we need to nd they pretty much all need to be ready to start. Tough task.

I'm assuming neither your CM or Striker are going to start? I mean, who you dropping 😂😂😂

The problem over the past couple of seasons hasn't been the starting XI, it's the drop-off from the first 12-13 players and the rest of the squad.

That's the reason I've never been 100% on Mbeumo at £50-60m. Does he improve our XI? Yes, considerably. But when we've got a CL game on the Wednesday and a big PL game on the Saturday I'd rather have the option of a new RW and a striker, even if that means going down our list of targets a bit.

The Villa game this season stands out. I still maintain our XI that day was better than theirs but whereas they could make four or five changes from their midweek team we had to send out the same players for their third game in a week.

Totally agree about the "drop off". I don't think it's unreasonable or overly critical of the squad players to say that, either. Added to that is the pressure, from having a small clique, on returning injured players to come off the bench.

The Villa game though, whilst proving the opinion correct, was a bit of an anomaly. Given the money they spunked on 3 very good players on loan, in January.

Guehi is not a right footed centre back. He is all left foot

I was going to call bullshit on this but watching highlights videos he does use his left a lot. I’d argue he’s genuinely comfortable controlling and passing with either foot, a rare talent. Would give us huge options for rotation across the season as you could play him with any of Schar, Botman and BDB.
