TBG Posted Wednesday at 07:41 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:41 (edited) If i was the sporting director I'd simply sell Murphy for £40M, Targett for £30M, Dubs for £25M and buy Dembele for £95M. Edited Wednesday at 07:42 by TBG

The last job I left with a months notice I just tried to spend it hiding from any sort of work so I imagine he's doing that, he will have inside knowledge of who we are trying to sign though, which might come back and bite us. Ideally you would want to bring a player in this season to share the role with him and then take over next. If and when he goes, no doubt other clubs will be asking monstrous fees for any replacement we are looking at so we don’t want to end up desperate next summer. There must be some younger players out there who are happy to learn from Isak knowing they are the future like Livramento was happy to learn from Trippier and take his chances when they arrived. If that’s the case I would be making a strong case to Jonathon David right now to come and ease in, share workload this season with a view to taking over as first choice next season. For free we’d be getting a 50m player and would have a very strong pair, maybe the strongest in the league alongside Haaland and Marmoush.

Accept it or not but there’s a very good chance we’ll end up with a DCL or something. If true, tells me that they would clearly have no ambition to try and knock him off the top spot. Someone good enough to depose Murphy (who's good) and someone good enough to depose Joelinton (who's also good), esp. in games we're expected to win. I'm playing the "Botman is like a new signing" card in defence. A CB is essential.

It's mind-boggling. I don't understand how we can have such rich owners but can't buy as freely as other wealthy clubs. Don’t light that touch paper, man. Frustrating enough doing the fruitless search for reliable rumours, if you trigger another ten pages on the vagaries of PSR you’ll push me over the edge! The College Dropout Posted Wednesday at 08:16 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:16 First concrete link will be someone left field. I hope not Mason Greenwood type left field but someone not previously linked

It seems like the kind of industry where reputation is everything. If he was to toss it off, word would get out and probably negatively effect his chances of future jobs. Not joined Newcastle for a year - got into a public spat with their now legendary manager and left after doing nothing of note.
KaKa Posted Wednesday at 08:26 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:26 Anyone seen much of Strasbourg this season? And their winger Dilane Bakwa? He's a left footed right winger there that has had a good season and has drawn some premier league interest. Not seen enough of him to have any strong opinion, but the age and profile seems to fit with the type of winger we may look at.

STM Posted Wednesday at 08:40 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:40 Is it not possible that Mitchell and Howe have agreed the chemistry isn't right, therefore Paul Mitchell has actually been a professional and said he will see the job until the end of the PSR window, in order to not leave a vacuum. I know he has a reputation for being a cunt but maybe he's professional enough to at least try and help the club do their business for a month, even if it's not the direction he wanted to go in. The reality is that if anyone thinks Eddie Howe is just sitting around twiddling his thumbs, they obviously don't know the man. He will be knocking down the door trying to improve the team.
