I dont understand this obsession to sell Gordon. The injury set him back and he wasnt fit for some time after that. Give him the CL season next year at least.

I think people just don’t have a deep enough liking for him because they hated him before he arrived. So any poor period and he’s not going to get the support he should get.

Totally agree. Why is it whenever one of our players goes through a sticky patch, we want to sell them. He's quite obviously a good player who we'll need next season. Get behind the lad!

Is it not just a case that we don't want to sell Isak, Bruno or Tonali (now Tino going from his thread), so if there has to be a big sale, he's the one that'd fetch the next most? I don't particularly want him to leave but if it meant we got 2-3 more players on top of what we would have, I can see why we'd do it.

Perhaps you're right, I just don't entertain the idea of selling him.

Could see scousers coming in for Gordon if Diaz goes, but wouldn’t want Barnes as first choice on the left next season.

Selling Gordon is only an option if we’ve got a top drawer replacement lined up.

He was my favourite player and I think our most important player in 23/24, its the seeming drop in commitment and the terrible body language which happened to coincide with talk of a move to Liverpool. He completely won me over, I didn't dislike him, liked his fight, just didnt think he was all that good. He hasn't seemed happy to be here this year, like he wished he got a move and it seems like its on his mind. Would love to see him committed again, not many like him when he is. Drags the team with him by force of will when he wants it.

I think Gordon is absolutely class, and want to keep him (FFP fuckery aside), but I don't think he's good enough for a team who genuinely should be competing for the PL and CL every season

Also buzzing about the idea of getting Pedro, really wanted an attacking midfielder-sort with a high ceiling

Him and Isak in the same 11 would be a nightmare for any team in Europe imo, then add in the pace on the wings, our industrious midfield..

Probably shouldn't get ahead of myself, smokescreen, £50m budget etc.

I’d sell him for £70-80m, but we aren’t going to get that after this season.

Hard disagree on this one. Gordon from the 23/24 season could get in almost anywhere.

Being able to complain about Gordon being brilliant and scoring against us (after they’ve said they’re happy to sell him) is an absolute dream scenario for some. They’d shoot themselves in the foot so they can moan about being in pain.

Gordon will have his best season yet next year. He’s had international duty past two summers, he will have a proper break now. By October people will be raving about him.

CL will mean plenty of starts for him and Barnes

We should keep Gordon but if a really good offer comes in then we should be open to it as well.

Think that's the same for a lot of our players tbh. Someone asked in another thread if we would be looking to shift Barnes...the answer is not particularly, but if we can get good money, then we can use that to strengthen other areas of the pitch which are weaker.

I think i would go for Elanga since he is playing at that position we need a upgrade on. His speed is different level. Pedro would be a more game changing player but yeah..
