NUFC Transfer Rumours

Surely not. We havent invested in 3 transfer windows and next season we are getting rid of the 22/23 season when we had a deficit of £70m.

That would cost something like 200 million. There is more of chance that Mackems win the league next year than we spend anything like that.

£30m in pure profit from Longstaff and Willock may be close enough to "fund" that spend for this season atleast.

Probably would need a big sale next summer though, especially if we miss out of CL.

Still all the PSR aside, we are not spending 200 million. If a major sale happens then maybe.

I want as many clubs to break the stranglehold of the elite as possible, however it's quite amusing seeing Villa go through what we've had to go through. It'll also strengthen the opposition to PSR, having a fashionable club like them being dragged through the mud.

Need Prince Billy to start making a few noises.

If we are serious about switching formations to accommodate another striker that maybe puts a question mark on someone like Ramsey coming in?

I dont see someone as established as Ramsey coming to sit on the bench. Even with the games we will have. Someone like Jack Rudoni that has been linked is more likely as he will sit and acclimatize. That said, if we want to build a squad to compete then we need top players in reserve.

I do think we shift Willock and/or Longstaff this summer. Which means we need to bring one more CM in. If we are predominantly playing 2 in the middle we can lose one CM (or both if we replace one) Tonali, Bruno, Miley, Joelinton and one more is ample. Especially as there are also high hopes for Munda in the reserves and Harrison as a more attacking mid. Hall can also fill that role.

Now we're talking

Not even a rumour there by the way sorry , just think he's decent and if he can write another song like The Gambler then that's a terrace anthem for a while.

I kind of hope there are a few players going under the radar that we're after, because I'm a bit tired of the same old links and us all going back and forth on it. Can't wait for the transfer window to be over really.

Saying that, I've come right round to either the Elanga and Guehi links and I'm not sure on the GK position - Pope is better than decent but I kind of get won over by the debates on here about distribution and how it changes the team.

Sort of looking forward to seeing it all play out as I'm pretty confident we'll have a competitive squad whatever. Just a bit scarred by that CL season which was magical at the time, but where we just didn't have enough depth because of a crazy injury crisis.

That latter thing probably being why I wouldn't want to keep Wilson as good as he's been in the past or risk DCL.
