I think he's had a great career and scored some big goals, won lots of trophies but he needs to disappear abroad now. He's as stale as I've ever seen a player who once mixed it with the best. This is from the very early days of his time Man Utd, before they absolutely ruined him and shot his confidence to pieces. I know these are only brief highlights, but in a different environment along with some proper coaching from Howe, I think there is definitely a player in there. For 20m I'd have Hojlund here, without question. Would still need one more striker alongside, though. I watched the highlights, all I can say is big whoop. It’s an absolutely tragic situation, this Wissa for anything above £40m is just a big nope. There are plenty of other strikers I'd take before giving Chelsea 90 million. Scottish Mag
I’d genuinely take a chance on Rasmus Hojlund if the fee is right as one of two strikers signed. There’s been talk of £30m, and if that’s anywhere close to reality then it could be a smart bit of business for us. United clearly want rid and unlike other clubs we actually put the time and coaching into developing younger players properly. We work with them as individuals, improve their game, and give them the platform to grow. That’s been a hallmark of Howe’s time here. People forget he’s only a year older than Gordon was when we signed him, and just two years older than Tino, and Hojlund arguably has as much or more experience at a high level. We tracked him back when he was at Sturm Graz and Atalanta, so the interest has been there. For the right price, it’s not a massive gamble. Even if it didn’t work out long-term, I don’t think we’d struggle to recoup a fair chunk of the outlay. Drop him into our system, with the kind of coaching and culture Howe has built, and it could click. Low-cost gamble, but one that could seriously pay off. Isn’t it at least a little instructive that not even one PL team has been linked despite his “bargain” price?

Isn’t it at least a little instructive that not even one PL team has been linked despite his “bargain” price? Our play on the transition he'd be very good for us, in addition to his work rate. We manufacture turnovers for space to run in behind (and go direct quicker), which would play to his strengths a lot more. Just would need to get confidence going to take the chances, confidence we're seeing Wood at Forest (not the Wood we saw here or his final season at Burnley). Major down mark on Hojlund is his link up play. I've not seen him be good at it at all. But he can be a 6 yard box poacher like Wilson was for us. Hojlund on loan with an option to buy as well as signing Wissa could be a really smart move. Howe gets a year with him to see if he can turn him into a good player - if he does bingo we get a great striker in the cheap. If it doesn’t work out then next season the money is still there to invest in a larger scouted pool of strikers
Andy
I'd be happier if we spent £120m on Wissa than if we wasted £20m on Hojland.
Sibierski
For someone who's 22 going 23, there's value in there for a £5m loan and £30m option to buy if you get him at that. 2 years of data in Prem would point to where his game can be used better for us etc. Just you need to balance it out with, as much as Eddie can improve players, is he too broken on confidence in this country to pull things around.
