Hojlund has been a disaster because he was dropped into a fucking cesspool with no consistent coaching, constant turmoil, fan unrest, etc. There's a reason why so many of their signings - pretty much all of them - went to shit. They weren't all shitty signings. They were signings in a shitty situation and had little chance to succeed. Look at Chelsea's array of wonder talents who arrived and immediately struggled. Take, for example, Joelinton. Big signing, lots of money, etc. Dropped into a shithole with fuck-all for a manager and no idea how to use him, fans on him immediately b/c he's an example of how inept the manager/club are. You get some stability around the club, new ownership, new manager, better environment and ideas, and the guy turns into a bargain. The opposite is true of a club like Brighton, for example. Very clear identity, very clear method of using players, very stable situation where a player can generally thrive and end up much improved in a season or two. Would Baleba, Mitoma, Caicedo, Trossard, Mac Allister, etc have made the impact they did had they signed in a situation like Hojlund or Big Joe? Doubtful. You cannot separate the signing from the team signing them. THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF SIGNING HOJLUND BTW. I didn't rate him before and still don't. Agreed id be okay with Hojlund as the Osula replacement with Osula going out on loan
Menace
Hojlund has something for sure, but we're not in a position to train him up to have confidence. We need someone to come in all guns blazing.

Just find it interesting when people say they like the look of someone or that we should have signed someone purely based on YouTube I'd hazard a guess 99% of the forum won't have watched a Nice or Rennes game last season (including myself) Edited August 18, 2025 by joeyt

Famous Nick
cant get to Friday afternoon and still planning to play Gordon upfront vs Liverpool. I think new transfer need to be registered by Friday afternoon to be eligible. seriously is Vardy still a free agent? get him on a trial or sign him for one game then release him. Lotus
If we’re honest, Isak has a decent turn of pace but he’s not very fast. Not quicker than Gordon and Murphy. Doubt he’s quicker than Tino. That’s something to bear in mind when watching Woltemade who is also, not blisteringly quick. Very good feet and hold up play though. Better in tight spaces than Isak, but that’s playing in the Bundesliga.
Smal
I know everybody hates him now but there’s no need for that level of revisionism. Isak is very fast.
Matt1892
Not just his goals in this one but also some clips of him coming deep to link up with midfield before bringing the wide players in, something we could do with to release Gordon and Elanga on the counter. His movement in the box is what is most impressive, which isn’t shown that well in this one.
Ronson333
Moises Kean has matured into a decent striker, still only 25 and got 19 goals in Serie A last season.
mosstef
I'd take Kean or Burkardt.
