Problem is both Willock and big Joe are injury prone, too bad we couldn't shift Wiilock as I do believe Ramsey is his replacement.

I totally understand why his teammates want nothing to do with him. I get why Eddie wouldn’t want the distraction.

 

But if we capitulate and spend £100m plus on those two it’s going to be very hard to stomach.

It’s not untenable at all. And Isak is top five strikers on the planet and we should keep him unless an insane bid comes in. No doubt.

If some club is willing to pay £130 million plus for this clown, just maybe the manager would rather take the money and make the team even better than it has been with Isak.

 

I think it's pitiful that even though the manager and his teammates look like they want him gone, there's people that still want to keep this guy and think he's just going to waltz back in and start scoring goals, and they'd actually be celebrating that.

 

If the manager is ready to move him on, I hope he goes to Liverpool continues to have fitness issues, disrupts any momentum Ekitike may be building up and gets him in a strop, and the balance of their team gets thrown off even further because they're even more lopsided and defensively suspect.

Who wants to keep him? It sounds like your conflating wanting to keep him with not selling to the club that clearly created this situation on the cheap.

This was exactly my feelings. Very disappointed if we sell him to Liverpool and buy those 2. Hopefully if we are to buy those two we can loan him abroad for a year but seems unlikely

I can’t see us buying anyone now. We have left it all far too late. We seem to be still offering lower than both Brentford and wolves would even consider accepting.  
 

we should have had Wilson’s replacement done and dusted no later than mid July. We have messed about way too much. Leaving it this late is unacceptable for his replacement. The Isak situation has caused a lot of problems. But that shouldn’t have affected Wilson’s replacement. 
 

we look, at this stage, to be going into the season with just osula as our actual striker option. The club have done a lot of good, made some great signings this summer … but this is a terrible situation. Hope I am proved wrong in these last few days. But don’t seem to be pushing too hard. Will close the window and be “we tried. But just couldn’t do it” whilst under bidding and chasing the same 2.

Well there's only one team in for him, and so if the manager and his teammates want him gone, I doubt they care where he ends up, and so that's where he'll be going.

 

Also, getting anywhere around £130 million instead of the £150 million fee we set as the starting point, is not selling him on the cheap.

I understand where your coming from but in the last few days I've leaned more towards us getting Wissa & JSL and fucking off Isak, rather us get the full 150m, Hope reckons we'd accept 130 and I think it would be better for our season to have two strikers that want to play for us and a happy team than sign one striker and have a bad egg like Isak moping about the place half arsed!

Cost/hard stance against Liverpool aside I’d rather have two new strikers who want to play for us than one who simply has no desire to be there whatsoever. People forget the ramifications on the dressing room of having a player who absolutely has no desire to be there, nor desire to help the team and who for much of the dressing room don’t want him there either. When you're scrapping in games and the lad up top just isn’t arsed. 
 

It’s a really difficult decision for the club and Howe in terms of how to manage this situation all created by Isak with Liverpool the catalysts.
