Aye let's take risks on results, because noone will ask for the manager to be sacked if we lose.

What if Wolves or Brentford are steadfast and refuse to let JSL or Wissa go? It would be pretty hard to convince them at this stage in the window unless we pay their asking price, assuming they have set one. Is that what we should do ultimately?

Pay their asking price.

Of course if there are other options that Eddie likes, fine, let's try them but we dont take needless risks on players who arent ready to go.

Don't think there's much option now but to pay over the odds, that's the position we have left ourselves in. 5 days to go I don't really see where we pivot from here.

Thats exactly what we did on Isak, we heavily over paid and bet on potential. Thats far better than punting 60m on some clobber who can barely move

Who's the £60m clobber you are referring to?

Im gonna say it. We are trying to sign Wissa and JSL so we can sell Isak.

As soon as we sign one, Liverpool will put a serious bid in.

Yeah, there is no reintegration option any longer. It may become public that we negotiating but deal is probably only done on deadline day as we try and rinse them for every last penny and rightly so.

Would people be happy with a scenario where we finish the window with Wissa & JSL for around 110m and sell Isak to Liverpool for around 140m (bear in mind Sociedad get a cut of this)?

We'd end up with very little profit, (if any) but arguably upgrade our striker department from last year. Having 2 good, solid PL proven strikers to rotate with each other, plus Osula is better in my book than one guy who was world class for about 40-50% of the season and his back up was a crooked, empty jersey.

The issue there is that every dirty trick Isak & Liverpool have played on us this summer eventually paid off and the optics (everyone's favourite word) look terrible.

Nope. Awful business.

It's bad business which ever way you cut it selling Isak in this window and especially selling him to the North West respectful club. I'd rather he stayed and we level the PSR boat next summer, even if we get both JSL and Wissa in this week. Give Isak limited minutes until he proves himself and if he doesn't then he scuppers any dreams of a big money move to an elite club.
