NUFC Transfer Rumours

If City would accept roughly what we were offering for Trafford last summer, we should pull the trigger. He’s clearly been the player we’ve coveted the most at that position for several years, and I don’t think there’s much doubt about his ability to hit the ground running.

If any of the traditional big teams would accept that it would probably be City mind. They seem to value getting rid of unhappy players over trying to bleed rivals through the nose. They probably won't accept 30 but if any team would, then it would be them.

Verbruggen seems like another Pope to me. Makes some really good saves, but has far too many howlers in his locker for my liking.

Have seen precisely nothing of Risser, but it might behove us to take a punt on the slightly cheaper option and gamble on the lack of PL experience. It's worked for Man United and Sunderland.

Mental that Kelleher went to Brentford for £18m. He'd have been ideal for one of our options.

Pretty sure @KaKa wanted us in for him last year. We obviously had our sights set on Trafford before Pep came knocking.

Yeah, kept seeing him turn out really good performances during that period Alisson was out and Liverpool fans really rated him highly.

Thought for the fee it was a no brainer really. At the very least he would have been a solid reliable keeper we could then bring in a younger prospect behind.

Was a great pick up for Brentford and he'll likely be in Europe with them next year now, so fair play to them.

Yep I said the same about Kelleher, we should have been all over that when the rumors came out he was agitating for a move

Honestly think we should just pay what it takes to get Trafford now. He'd be in the City team if they hadn't took the plunge and bought the best keeper in the world.

Kelleher is not good enough as a no 1 in long term. Better tham Ramsdale though.

How come? Heard good things, but not watched enough of Brentford to critique his game.

Plenty on here didn't want him

Might be a deal to be done with Tino for Trafford

Tino’s off to arsenal isn’t he?

Is that important?

A lot of people on here claim how easy it should be for us to sign players and how we should have gone for certain players yet most of it is based completely on hindsight and at the time they wouldn't have been happy with us signing them

Isn’t that the point of the thread though? Harmless enough isn’t it. Most people where right about most of the signings last summer tbf, but more wrong than right in general.

People were pretty happy with the Wolte and Wissa signings and yet the reaction to us signing Thiaw was embarassing from what I remember. And only 1 of those 3 can be deemed a success so far

Most people where against the Elanga signing and he has been a disaster.

I think the point I'm trying to make is that when people go "we should have signed Kelleher" yet also you only have to type his name into the search engine to see a lot on here would have been unhappy at us signing Liverpool's second choice keeper

Sadly, they weren’t. Some of us just posted relentlessly about it so it looks like most.
