Chicken Dancer
Goalkeeper, striker and holding midfielder are the 3 glaring holes this summer. I'd be really excited if we signed a dedicated '6' as I would see that as Howe having an appetite to evolve our style into something different to what it is now. Clear as day we need a keeper and someone who can put the ball in the back of the net, but those 3 should be the absolute priorities this summer. After that we're going to need a new winger and probably a couple of fullbacks, and I wouldn't say no to a new centre half as I can't say I have much confidence in any of ours. Reminds be a bit of Carrick both in stature and the way he plays. He's understandably a little cautious at times but he's shown he's a great eye for a forward pass (he played someone in on Sat at the Gallowgate, but can't remember who). It's whether Howe would trust him enough to play there but I definitely think his future is there for sure.
Sidg
I'm a completely transfer obsessed rube who for my sins refreshed Burnsie to the point of blistering my fingers last summer, and even I can't get excited about a GK link even though it's the single most important and transformative signing we must make this summer. Coffee_Johnny
23 hours ago, Smal said: clearly an unpopular opinion here but Jones is really good and underutilised by a poor coach at Liverpool. Would arguably be our most technically secure player, and someone in addition to Bruno who could receive the ball from the defence and progress it. I’d be happy if it were something like £30m. Given it’s the last year of his contract anything more would be a bit shit. Another caveat is that I’d only want to see him as part of a double pivot. Don’t want to see him as one of our 8s in a 4-3-3 where he hardly sees the ball. I could see Jones being a really important player for us. I am less hung up on the money (it is all mad numbers really) and also it is worth thinking about the blend of the team as a whole rather than the skill set of particular players who (1) we could realistically attract and (2) would improve our squad (or replace what we’ll lose…). gbandit
He’s a very good player in fairness. Hard to dislodge Gravenberch and Szob but I’d play him over Alexis. Can’t say I’ve watched them closely enough to say how best to play those three but they’re all quality footballers. Alexis used to be but I think he’s faded quite a bit

We 100% need a CB as I similarly to you don’t trust our CBs - we concede too many soft goals (granted it’s not all on them)

Very complete footballer, all now hangs on the intangibles about how he makes the leap to adult football, as he’s definitely got the game to make it
Dr.Spaceman
No goalkeeper is good enough if they're only coming here to challenge Nick Pope. We should have enough about us to be signing a clear new number one.

janpawel
Thoughts on Edwards claiming we are interested in Trafford, Verbruggen and Risser? Risser is supposedly very young and inexperienced, albeit talented. Can't help but think he'd be number 2 for a while behind Pope if he came. I'm desperate for us get a keeper that starts immediately as we've been shambles there this year Trafford, I wasn't fussed by him last summer, but City fans seem more and more impressed with him as the seasons went on, some saying that they'd rather sell Donarumma if they could.. He's looked good in the domestic cups for them Verbruggen, never paid attention to him tbf, wary of anyone from Brighton. Was crap against us last week
