Think this would make him the first German born footballer with a Japanese mother to play for us.

Hopefully some Italian in him too. Proper Axis power of a new goalkeeper.

Tino feels like an Isak in terms of his body will never be free from tears and strains plus he's not been putting in the work of late when he's played.

If it is £50M for Tino it's a great bit of business for us.

Not sure about that, barely any profit on what we bought him for

We paid nigh on 40 million for him would want 60 atleast.

We could have asked for that if he wasn't out injured every other week.

I'd prefer to squeeze them for a bit more given how much we originally paid for him!

It depends what's left on his 'book fee'

Signed summer 2023. £40M fee over 5 year deal, so book value depreciated by £8M / year. Therefore, book value in summer 2026 should be ~£16M.

£50M sale = £34M profit.

I'm sure that's not exact, but probably directionally correct.

So, we're losing Tripps, Tino, Krafth and possibly Schär? Eddie talked about not getting too many new in but only in defence it seems like we could need 3 or 4 new players just to fill the holes...

He didn’t say that.

Linked to a lot of CMs.

Willock likely gone and tonali possibly gone with big Joe no longer a spring chicken in footballing terms I can see why.

Interesting to see if its more going to be a more attacking goal scoring one or a  DM

The Everton fan at work has just asked me about Osula as he's heard they're linked. He also mentioned £60m, surely they wouldn't be so stupid, nor would we if they actually bid that much?

We also desperately need someone who can substitute for Bruno when he isn't available.  We can't continue being unable to play football when he's unavailable.

I think there is too much to do to resolve both issues this window. Will come down to who goes or stays and what system we end up tweaking to.

Finally defining Miley's role outside of versatile utility player may also help.

If its 1 in 1 out we ideally need someone that can do a little bit of a 6 or 8 but I wouldn't want to rule out a specialist in one position either.

I would definitely look to add to the CM options if it was me and if you have to sell multiple people to do it then so be it, granted it probably isn't realistic. But I do feel if the midfield works effectively as a unit it would solve a lot of problems.

I think the issue is there is too many unknowns here who will stay or go, who we could get a bid from even if not initially intended to sell.

Will we change from 4-3-3 will that involve a number 10 which means you may need to rethink how your midfield functions we are lucky in the sense Bruno has said he is able to play 6,8,10 but we rely so much on him being fit and available.

If willock goes its not going to be for a lot of money due to 12 months left if Tonali goes we lose a key quality of his availability/stamina/work rate but would attract a big fee which should allow us the perfect opportunity and more importantly funds to reshape the midfield.

We need work everywhere and our better players are not getting any younger how we reinvest is going to be really important.

Midfield is stacked but lacks balance. Willock is surely off but it still leaves 5 mids, plus you've got the likes of Hall and Woltemade who can fill in there too.

Main thing for the midfield for me is moving away from the Joelinton-Tonali axis for lots of games next season. Bruno of course has to play, and I think Miley's development is really important for us next season if he can stay fit. I just don't think we need both Tonali and Joelinton in there together.
